Posted a few times over here already, and I really appreciate the help and the advice and so glad that this forum is here.
I know that after a triple bypass, we all get a wee bit worried with every twitch we get & I suppose this is normal that one worries.
It's been 10 weeks now after the operation for me and yesterday I felt a extra or lost heart beat - happens every 2 or 3 min - or 5mins.
I don't notice it when I am doing some thing- just when I am relaxed.
It's not stopped yet, so I was wondering is this some thing to worry about ?

Hello
I had a Bypass 4 months ago a triple one to and I have not stopped worrying ever since
I admit so far I have not had the heart beat thing but I have had some other things that have worried me
Also when I am worried the more I focus in on them the more I feel them
But to make sure all these things are alright I either contact my Doctor , Rehab Nurse or if I think it needs even more than that I contact my Consultants Secretary and explain to them what is concerning me and my Consultant gets back to me
I am sure other members will be able to offer better insight into this and it is still early days 10 weeks but I would contact one of who I have mentioned tell them and they will let you know if this is normal for some or they would like to see you
You certainly will. You've made great progress from our first posts.
Much like you I worried about every ache and pain and got more anxious but as time went on, I learnt to identify the pains, I knew they were healing pains and quite normal. So I made myself busy and forgot about them and they soon go away
Keep going, four months is still early but look how far you have come ( have you kept a diary 😂) and believe me, in a few more months time you'll be feeling even better x
Well guilty as charged your honour in not keeping a dairy But in my defense lol so much has been happening
Now I have started with nose bleeds really bad something like a horror movie they last one to two hours when they happen and of course that is my anxiety set of well it is already of but gets worse
I had it cauterised just over a week ago of course the fear of that and t be honest it hurt and made me a bit ill for several days and to top that it has not worked I am still getting nose bleeds so my Doctor is trying to work out what to do next
Then today I have ended up at the dentist and I am agoraphobic so getting me out the house is a mission in itself , thought she would say nothing wrong but mo had to drill the filling out and replace it
But also and the worst thing my ex husband who is the Farther to my two Beautiful Adult Daughters was self isolating ever since covid started as he had a kidney transplant 12 years ago and was in the high risk group well he got covid and passed away Friday and my girls were Daddies girls and their world has now been torn apart and I have been spending hours listening to them crying on the phone which has been dreadful as anyone knows that has Children young or Adult's when there in pain you are to and with this one I just cannot take their pain away and it is really screwing me up as well as coping with my own issues
So there has been so much happening I am drained at the moment and forgetting to do most things
So that is my defense with the Dairy
Sorry to who's post this is for talking on it , I hope I have not caused any offense or seem to be rude as I would not mean to x
Bekind, I can't believe you have gone through that all on your own. You should be very proud of yourself for coping with what you have had the bear; and all that on top of your health. Look after yourself.
Oh and edit my apologies for popping this into someone else's thread - oops.
Oh you poor lady you have had a really bad time of things both health wise and emotionally.
I'm so sorry to hear about your ex husband and your poor daughters, it must be so hard for you all at this time, my thoughts are certainly with you at this difficult time x
Take care of yourself and your loved one's and keep recovering, you are doing so well xxx
I am so sorry to hear about everything you are going through BeKind28. You provide such wonderful support to people on this forum, including me. Just to say, please keep us updated, and if there is anything I can do by way of support, please do let me know. Judi
The worst thing about this pandemic was when the post cardio exercises were stopped. It was only when attending them that I really got my confidence back and started to understand where I was. Many of the wobbles you refer to before I started the course dominated my life. The course I took was well monitored and you mix with people in the same state as yourself. I understood why I got breathless and sometimes I could hear my heart beating etc. There are some excellent post cardio exercises on utube . I go for the East Cheshire post cardio op workout because it’s very close to what I used to do in class. Good luck
Hi Allan007, I can certainly relate to everything you are saying. I have not had the miss heart beat, but I do imagine that every twitch or slight twinge I get is something more serious. It also means that I get more anxious. I was intrigued to find out that there is a link between anxiety and pain, where we can experience anxiety which can potentially make the pain appear worse. I am not sure of all the research on this, but it may be worth trying to ensure you are not overly anxious. Easily said than done, I know, but perhaps worth considering.
I would definitely take the advice of BeKind28, we must try and reach out to get answers.
I am about 10:weeks post bypass now, and as it turned out due to the mix of medications I was on, I had experienced chronic nausea for a lot of that time. I spoke to my consultant finally, and he is adjusting my meds. It feels as though it is getting better, so fingers crossed!
Please do take care and reach out to the heart team. I am also relatively new to the hub, and everyone is so lovely and kind on here. Judi
Sounds like an ectopic beat which is an extra silent beat. I'd check this out with your GP or rehab team though just to make sure.
I'm 12 months post AVR and aorta replacement and I get these. Quite worrying to start with but mine have subsided some what, it's more when my heart rate elevates.
Good luck with everything and keep us all informed 👍
