Hi there, it's difficult answer as everyone is different and while 51% sounds not bad, some people have symptoms with 'preserved ejection fraction'. The best thing is to have a chat with your heart nurse if you have one or your GP. Bending over to put shoes on is often something that makes you breathless though, I try not to if I can! Take care x
Hi, a normal Ejection Fraction is 55-65% so in itself an EF of 51% is ok, but there are other factors that only an expert can consider so it’s important to discuss it with a cardiologist /doctor. Perhaps the BHF nurse helpline can help you with what questions to ask your doctor.
Well above both of my ankles are swollen someone said could be the blood thinners making u breathless don't know how true that is but I'll send a extract of what doctor wrote to me also I tried the tape thing but the bloody things won't stay stuck on lol so I have it up take back tomorrow
All done on the phone I'm only 48 and I'm worried and it don't help me n my ex partner split up so with all this I'm kinda worried have checked my BP and it was 155/96
Oh dear. It’s hard to get to the bottom of things, especially when the equipment won’t play along nicely. May be the cardiac clinic can help with a better way to keep it in place. Please persevere with your GP, you’ll get there in the end.
when you have LVSD or LVDD dysfunction, EF really doesn't matter. Mine increased from 46 to 64% in 6 months, but it is still HF and breathlessness is still haunting me every moment. Since I am on diuretic my BP has come down and Dr. is unable to give me ARB.
