In defence of Covid booster

See yet again someone blaming the Covid booster giving them a heart condition. I had AZ for my first 2 jabs couple side effects but was fine.

On Tuesday had Pfizer Covid booster apart from being very tired all day and having a sore arm which is still sore no other side effects.

I have been ill with a neurological condition since I was 29 which effects my limbs . Last year after blood tests diagnosed with heart failure . My cardiologist did an echo then bubble echo which should I was born with a heart defect. But as I already on high blood pressure tablets and because of Covid nothing further happened. But This year made many trips to A&E due to chest pain. Finally in September was on the ECG machine while it was happening and diagnosed with PAF . And put under the care of AF clinic . Saw a different cardiologist and had a MRI on my heart last month. I take Flecainide 50mg twice a day and Apixaban 5mg twice a day.

I feel well not missing the heart beats I was and my heart isn't racing like it was.

If felt I had to write as I am fed up with people blaming the Covid vaccine on any new thing that happens to their bodies.

I am 63. Haven't stop wearing my mask since Covid was first announced last year. Still keep my distance while out and gel my hands frequently.

So please everyone get your Covid booster and flu jabs. And if you haven't had the 1st Covid jab please do so. Not just for your health but that of family and friends. And for all the people unable to have the vaccine due to health problems.

I am of an age I remember people dieing from polio, whopping cough , measles and TB . Also remember having to have the dreaded Smallpox jab.

Vaccines save lives .

MichaelJH I wrote in support of Covid booster not knocking it. As I am a great believer in all vaccines. And am looking forward to having my shingles one when I am 70.

If we have to have Covid vaccine every year like flu vaccine I will be getting that to.

Vaccines save life's .

The problem is that sadly, this type of post will probably get hijacked and go totally off topic.

I had my booster on Monday afternoon,so I trained hard in the morning expecting a sore arm after it.No sore arm next day but Tuesday evening had flu like symptoms for 24 hours ok now.Think it was the jab. Then again it could be all the Guinness I drank on Tuesday.Take care x

That kind of reaction, flu like symptoms, is probably down to your immune system responding, which isn't a bad thing.

Thanks very much Gaz

I know only to well the anti Covid booster vaccine will hi jack it but I thought a positive note was needed.

We all need some positive news for once. I am sick of all the doom and gloom.

Why can't people be happy we are still alive. I was widowed when I was 45 my husband died an awful death from cancer. He made me promise to live the best life I can and I do.

Life is to short we need to make the most of every minute we have . Happiness is an under rated emotion. Just be happy we wake every morning ready to face another day.

You have your opinion I have mine. Therefore we would never agree. So not point going further.
