Still waiting …..

I was told a week last Thursday that I had a date for my mitral valve repair. I was nervous but also relieved as I’ve been waiting a long while (I alerted GP in Sept 2020 that I’d started to feel worse and needed to be seen). I travelled to Papworth for the pre op this Tues and op was scheduled for Friday 19th. Yes, you guessed it, as I arrived home after a 5 hour round trip I got a call to say it was cancelled! I can’t begin to tell you how upset I was. It’s taken me a few days to accept the news and now the wait continues. I was given no replacement date and told that ITU is completely full (I have been given this reason for no date every month since August) operations are now being severely cut down. It’s the uncertainty of waiting that is so hard to cope with isn’t it? I’m struggling now to stay positive, so any advice would be great. Thank you.
