Still waiting !!!!!

Just thought I’d post that I’m still waiting for I think about 18 months now for the extraction of the tooth that has the abscess that my dentist wouldn’t do due to meds and heart condition, one hospital refused to do it, one has agreed and told I’d be first on his list to have it out as I’ve had yet more antibiotics, pain every single day!!!!!!

I know things are really difficult right now, any dentists out there 🥴

Hi Fluffybee

So sorry to hear that you are still suffering, I had been wondering how you were getting on.

It’s really quite insane what these so called professionals are putting you through, can only pray it’s sorted out very soon.

🙏🏻

My chest pain is fairly well controlled at present, but I too have a few dental problems and have an appointment in May, so I hope they will be kind to us !

Oh my goodness, have just posted to you somewhere else asking how you are, can’t believe you are still waiting, I have a nephew who is a dentist trouble is he is in the American Virgin Islands a bit too far to travel 😂Is it that they are still unwilling to extract the tooth or are they still not open up properly? You can’t be on so many antibiotics day after day indefinitely.

I think about you often and the smiles you have given me.

Best wishes Pauline

They are willing to do the extraction at a hospital but with covid the majority of consultants have temporarily gone to another local hospital !!!!

He did say I’d be top of the list a few months ago, I’m being a patient patient just having a whinge.

Maybe I’ll give them a ring at some point, luckily cellulitis hasn’t set in yet like last time, I’ve had gaps without antibiotics but when I do the pain creeps back. 🙄 x

I know it’s not a smiling matter but as I read “the consultants had temporarily “ I thought it was going to say gone on walk about! Don’t mind me just drinking my first coffee 😂 giving them a ring seems a good idea, keeps your name in the front of their brain.😉

That’s so sweet for you to say that, makes me happy you’ve had some smiles 🤭

Sorry to hear that you’re still waiting. I think you’re being very patient. My husband has dental problems and much as it goes against my normal Respect for the health professionals, I’ve had to be really really pushy with the dental hospital. I rang on a regular basis to ask about appointments & he’s now getting a course of treatment 😄. Surely they should have you at the top of the list now. Or just perhaps keep making appointments at your GP & see if they can pull strings? Or ring a local journalist ? Hope you get sorted. It’s awful for you. 🥺

Hi FluffybeeSorry to hear of your ongoing dental plight.

Something just came to mind, don't know if it might be any use to you, but there is a NHS specialised service for "adults with complex medical conditions who need additional special dental care". It's not overly known about.

I believe that your current dental practitioner or GP can make the referral.

Guess you would need to check out more information to see if its something suited to your situation.

The contact number is 0300 311 2233.

Fingers crossed for you 🌹

Hi wardijaWardija

Thank you for that, I’ll try that number, chasing hospital today, just thought I’d have heard a bit earlier as this sort of thing can affect your heart, 🥴 x

Too long now. They probably think it's cleared up. I would be on eh phone every day asking if they'd had any cancellations and when it was going to be done.

Fingers crossed you'll be pain free in the near future. Sending love and virtual hugs along with strong virtual pain killers!! Keep us posted xxxx

Goodness me.... this absolutely beggars belief. I'm back to seeing my dentist and hygienist at my regular 6 monthly intervals. Neither use mechanical equipment at these appointments and there are protocols in place, but I am being seen. I'm sure an extraction would not be an issue. Then again, for such procedures my dentist has invested in the highest grade of PPE, including something akin to a space suit!

All fine here. Hubby has finally got the dental hospital to agree he needs some teeth! Only problem is it’s 6 weeks between each appointment! He might have a bridge or dentures by Christmas! 😬. I do hope something gets sorted quickly for you😍. It’s nuts 🤯 I’d have been demented by now. Good luck 🙂
