Do you not find it helps? I have worn a face covering when (winter) cycling for years, i couldn't cope without one.

When I do my walking I wear a snood, it’s not just the cold with me if it’s windy I wear it then.

I wear a scarf, I find masks restrict my breathing too much.

Smokeakipper,

Great question and it was something that I had forgotten that I had suffered with until the day {yesterday} that I went out without a face mask on.

It seems that the mask was stoping that cold tightness on my chest.

The mask I use is the standard cloth stretchy one, it works for me, hope you have a solution soon, as I for one found the cold tightness quite worrying.

Hi, I was told on this site when I first joined that Jakemans menthol sweets help, I expect other brands are available. One sweet gets me to the post box and another gets me back home. I'm also asthmatic so I suspect the sweet prevents me from breathing through my mouth. On country walks I have a pocket full of these.
