before Covid 19 my holiday insurance abroad was over £300 per annum. i am74, 2 HA and go on activity trips. i take 5 prescription cardiac medication and am physically fit and stable. i resent the high premium and remember my cardiologist saying that it is the people that he doesnt see that most concerns him, ie sadly Chris Eubanks son. Also remember Ran Fiennes who had HA similar time to me when asked what he would do if he had another HA on one of his trips fixed the questioner with his gaze and said Im all right as keep taking the drugs but you are more likely to have a HA.

Anyway rant over but does anyone know of a good insurance company who dont rip of their customers who have had cardiac issues AND surprise surprise are also able to enjoy outdoor activities please? always mindful of course that some folk with cardiac conditions are unfortunately unable to partake in physical exercise through no fault of their own.

best wishes to all

Hi Frank.

We have found both Spectrum Insurance and Post Office Insurance to be the best. Good luck

We're using staysure, however the price you had before covid doesn't look too bad. While it's a joint policy I reckon my premium would be about 275, however that's worldwide including USA and Caribbean which costs more and balanced against the cost of even one night in a US hospital looks like a bargain. I am 57 with one mild HA and 6 recent stents.

I recommend StaySure and AllClear. For an annual premium there can be quite a saving if the US and Caribbean are exuded. Excluding cruises can also help further. If you are currently under investigation you may not be able to get any cover.

Hi I find travel insurance a total nightmare,I had a transplant last year therefore I do not have cardiomyopathy, severe heart failure and everything else that was wrong with the old one, there is nothing wrong with my new one at all. No one pre or post transplant will give me annual,I am 62, I was £80 for 6 nights in Majorca with no cancellation, A few companies that specialise in pre existing conditions are Insure With, Saga, Insure and go,I used Just Travel they are a broker and very helpful.I hope you get everything organised and have a fab trip, char

Sadly a lot of companies will not cover pre existing conditions in my experience,if they do its a very high cost

I recently used goodtogoinsurance.com/ and got a very reasonable price. I have heart failure as a result dilated cardiomyopathy and at the time was waiting for a CTR-D device implant. I think I found them through a specialist broker that was recommended on MoneySavingExpert.com. Defintely worth reading all of this page:
