Welcome to the group. Many of us have felt the horrible shock of finding our bodies are not behaving perfectly. Young, middle-aged or old, it is not pleasant. What is helpful is finding that many others share your problem, and are coping. Treatments are so much better than they were even a few years ago.

Follow advice, and don't be afraid to ask questions. (Of people who have some understanding of the issues.) Not Dr Google.

Welcome paper crafting. I'm sorry that you had to find us but you are in good hands with regards to experience! Whilst not medically trained we can offer our support and answer any questions that you may have however silly they may seem. To find out at 60 that you have a poorly heart ❤ seems like the end of the world but it isn't. You learn to adjust and make the best of what you can do, rather than what you can't.Just be kind to yourself and rest when your body tells you to.

When a doctor says there’s something amiss with your heart it’s all too easy to over react. The truth is there are lots of people on this forum with heart conditions who are living full, long, and active lives…and so can you!

The really important things are to take your medication (and that includes your Covid and Flu jabs) and to try and improve your life style as much as possible.

Get those things sorted and you’ll be around for a long, long time to come, enjoying life and dealing with whatever it throws at you!

Hello and welcome. I was mainly the same. Apart from finding out when I was 40 I had 1 small kidney since born I was doing ok till I decided to retire early at 63 to enjoy life. My b.p had always been ok. Then within a week of having a sore throat and cough. I was getting a bit short of breath and went to my doctor to find out my heart rate had gone down to 45 bpm. And was also diagnosed with severe copd. So now had a pacemaker for just over 2 years. You will find plenty of help in this group Brian
