Hello all. It's been a while. HA in April 2021 and diagnosed with HF in May. EF of 27% wasn't holding out much hope on EF improvement as on very lowest dose meds as I already suffer with low BP and they didn't want to take any risks. I can't say enough to ask for ENTRESTO!!! Also a change in lifestyle. Echocardiogram results today has shown my EF is now at 45 % and I am more than pleased with that. Please all take care and keep up the hard work πŸ€— we are all survivors and never forget that.

Oh 0163SLH that is so good to hear. You doubted that a good change could happen but it did. Here’s to your future improvements and a happy life.I was the same you know. My daughter said Mum this figure can change but I held very little hope. Like you when the Echocardiogram revealed a marked change I felt like I’d win the lottery. ( we both did in a way) ❀️❀️

What's EF please? I'm a newbie here.

0163SLH profile image
0163SLH in reply to Ruby40

Hi Ruby. It's is your Ejection Fraction which in turn I think is what they consider level of heart failure. Basically how much blood oxygen is pumped round the body. At this result I pretty much think I've avoided having to have a pacemaker and defibrillator 🀞🀞

I was wondering what was the cause of your low ef. My partner has low ef and told it is likely to be caused by multivessel ischaemic heart disease. You must be so pleased πŸ‘

0163SLH profile image
0163SLH in reply to Weeps24

Well they aren't quite sure. I have severe LAD disease, However I'm insulin diabetic which I guess I didn't take serious enough and I was a smoker. However it was someone on here (wish I could remember who) that told me to ask the cardiologist about entresto and he was more than happy to prescribe it to me as long as I tolerated it. Worth a ask if he's not on it. Yes , so pleased 😊 now the hard work to keep it up πŸ™ˆ

Weeps24 profile image
Weeps24 in reply to 0163SLH

Thank you I am not sure if lad disease is the same as ischaemic heart disease!!! I will certainly ask if this is an option πŸ‘. Yes you must definitely keep it up πŸ™πŸ‘

0163SLH profile image
0163SLH in reply to Weeps24

I don't think it is for one particular disease, think it's just more used now in heart failure. Always worth an ask πŸ‘ as we are all different .
