Thought I should share this...after getting my shocking news of HF in December 2022 due to cause "unknown".....my EF was 37...when you get this diagnosis it is very frightening..LBBB..I was prescribed Entresto and Bisoprolol..my first dosages were higher than I could tolerate..and my BP and pulse were too low..so we decided on a much lower dosage of 1 third of 1 Entresto tab of 50 mg...and 1 third of Bisoprolol which was a 2.5 tab broken into 3...after 6 months my EF was better at 46...and we raised the dosage of both tabs to 25 mg of Entresto and 1.25 of Bisoprolol..I do a control and an Echo every 6 months...and regularly saw small increases of the EF..in Jaunuay it was just over 49...both I and the Cardiologist were very happy with this result..he asked if I could raise the Bisoprolol a bit..so after taking my BP controls if my pulse was over 70 I would take an extra 1.25 dosage of bisoprolol...during this complete time I also used a few suppliments..like Quercetin with Bromelain..Gluthatione..at times...Vit D3 and K2 .daily...some B12...on July 1st did the most recent Echo and my EF was just over 66...absolutely normal ..and total heart function was also improved...I never expected these amazing results...but thank God immensely...and wanted some of you here with the same problems like I have to keep the hope..as the Cardiologist said each patient is different and in my case the lowest dosages work..I keep a book with twice daily results of the BP numbers as well...I will continue with my twice yearly consultations..until I am satisfied that these results are constant...and wish all on this very helpful site all the best..God bless you all.

Hi there

Thats great news and thank you for the post.

My husband had a cardiac arrest a couple of years ago and recently diagnosed with HF with an EF of 30 to 35. He was put on Eplenerome (in addition to the other 8 drugs he has been on since the cardiac arrest) and has done regular cardio exercise 3 to 4 times a week since we found out and it is now up to 40 to 45 which is what is was when he was sent home after the cardiac arrest - which is also good news.

However, finding out that yours has increased even more gives us great hope that his could improve even more if he continues with the exercise and medication.

I will also look into those supplements you mentioned as the cardiologist has not mentioned those to us.

Thanks again for sharing x

Suppliments are never or seldom suggested by the Doctors..it is up to us to do our own research and try things out...there are several teas that help too..Tumeric..ginger..green etc..I am sure that you will find what works best for your husband..best of luck.

Great news thank you for sharing. My husband has heart failure with EF 38 his cardiac nurse has now prescribed Entresto and Dapagliflozin and monitors him every month so we feel extremely lucky and grateful. Best wishes take care 😊🌞X

those are fantastic results. How much Entresto are you taking? As your note was not clear

My entresto tablet is 50 mg which consists of Sacubitrilum 24.3 mg and Valsartan 25.7mg...I split this pill in 2 halves and take 1 half per day...it is not the normal protocol as the doctors follow that protocol and will try to give you higher doses as prescribed by the pharma company...but each person is different and some cannot tolerate higher doses..I have a friend who takes a lot more..but sleeps from morning to night as his BP drops so low...listen to your body...tell your Doc how you react and take a dose that makes you personally feel better...Hope this helps.

Great work, well done, I had an EF of 28% in Jan, drugs (enough to turn me into a zombie) and ablation followed. 18 weeks after diagnosis (AF) and 6 weeks post ablation my EF was 50%. I cried when I was told that I was now normal. It's the best feeling in the world. I'm now another 8 weeks on and feel fitter that I have for years so guessing it's improved again. Keep up the good work. It's success stories like yours that made me brave enough to have the treatment.

So happy to hear..I too was speechless and overjoyed..once you get to the high 40s or that magic 50 number..you know that you are doing something right...I wish you continued improvement..and keep feeling good°

I must say I’m envious of people who see cardiologist and have follow up and explanation of what the problem is…still waiting EF 38% ….. AF….. diagnosis January…

I live in Switzerland..private medical insurance is compulsory..and so you can go at anytime and be seen by your doctor of choice...and get results immediately..it is expensive but worth it..your EF of 38...with the correct medication will improve...hope you can get an appt sooner with some answers just for peace of mind... having that helps..

Mine was private health care in the UK. Sadly the NHS is overwhelmed, My daughter is an anaesthetist and ICU Dr in addition to being a Dr on her local busy Mountain Rescue team. I see the hours that she works sometimes and wonder just how she fits everything in.

Yes..the NHS does seem to be overwhelmed..if you went private then I cannot understand the delay for you getting results and correct medication..your Daughter is a hero in the Public healthcare system..as well as being on the mountain rescue team...youth is the answer..that is how she fits it all in..😇..you should just be more persistant and keep calling till they just have to give in and see you..with results and plans going forward.
