So, as I checked the state of my chest wound and scar tissue the other day, I noticed a very clear and pronounced ‘bump’ in the place where I expected my rib to have been removed and rejoined to my sternum.
My family have all had a feel and find it between discoursing and amusing.
Does anyone else have a similar lump/ bump or whatever you’d call it where your rib was removed and rejoined during OHS?
Just wondering if this is one of those other things they don’t tell you prior to surgery?😏
Brand. Can’t comment on rib removal. My bypass involved cutting down the sternum (breastbone). This is then wired back together after bypass procedure.
But I am sure many surgeons have there own methods. Would be worth talking to your surgeon.
Yes I have the bump😂 can’t really see it when I look in the mirror but when I run my hand over you can certainly feel it. The left side is definitely higher, think maybe when they joined us back up it was a bit off😂.
Hope your doing better, here in Scotland Autumn is rushing in! Nights are drawing in, don’t know where this year as gone, it’s flown by.
The mornings have that Autumnal look misty rolling in and the colours changing every morning, feel very lucky to see it. One of my Granddaughters is doing photography A level, she lives on the south coast so is eager to come up and take some shots. 😂Maybe you can come up to Scotland in the not too distant future and use your camera again.
Scotland is ALWAYS on my list of places to visit, as it is for almost anyone who enjoys photography. Tell your Granddaughter to make that visit - on the grounds of getting material for her portfolio - she won’t go back empty handed, that i do know.
It is on the cards for a visit once the Covid thing is sorted out to a more consistently regulated method - no point me booking to come to Scotland only for ‘Nicolal S’ to say i have to vacate the trains at the border, or quarantine for a week before crossing the border - and then Boris saying i can’t come back at the end of the trip because they’ve discovered a ‘Shetland Variant’ - it’s all a tad chaotic at the moment.
Glad you are well and hope your husband is having a better time of things, like you - he’’s been through the mill. Granddaughter visiting would do you both some good, as well as her photography 👍
I had a chest drain after an RTA and years later I complained to my myofascial release physio that I felt "caught up" where I had been sewn up. A minute or so of massage and it was gone and has not returned.
