Pacemaker worries
Has your relative tried this site? There are lots of us with various types of pacemakers who would share experiences. Finding face-to-face groups might not be easy at the moment.
Thanks a lot, Rufus. I'm looking for moral support for a friend who's been offered a pacemaker. I think he'd be happy to be able just to talk to someone with "pacemaker experience". Pacemaker uk sounds great!
Thank you for replying. My friend is not into computers or Facebook but I'll certainly take a look because it sounds great.
I had a pacemaker last November and joined the pacemaker uk group on Facebook , there are so many lovely members that are always there to offer advice , support and a kind word of reassurance . I found it invaluable especially in the early weeks after my procedure . I’m 10 months on from having my pacemaker and I still ask for advice if I have a question . It’s good being able to ask other people who know what you are going through . Obviously its very important to get advice from the hospital but it’s nice knowing there are people to ask if it’s something that doesn’t need professional medical help.
Thanks Westie. That's well worth knowing
Bromley has a Heart Support Group. Not specifically a pacemaker group, but I have found the Croydon equivalent very useful for all sorts of questions, and many members will have PMs (I have an ICD). I don't know if they are meeting at the moment (the Croydon group isn't), but it might be worth getting in touch with them. healthwatchbromley.co.uk/se...
