Dear You,

Without I would be dead without mine, sorry to be so blunt but that is the way it is,

To date it has fired off three times, two definitely started my heart again and with the third the jury is out.

I look at it as my own paramedic that can at lest try and help me well before the two legged ones arrive { I wouldn't survive that long }

Don't worry about the unit, it is what it is, an amazing life saving incredible piece of kit, that you soon will forget you have.

Take care and please ask any questions

Hi Blue. Thank you so much for your reply as it's very reassuring. How long have you had it please?

Its just a year now, a CRT-d { Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy with Defibrillator } which basically means its making my heart pump the best and as even as it can.

Hi, my EF was 24% I was too ill for a bypass so the Consultant decided to try the device. After my ICD was fitted it rose to 30%, as I felt more like walking etc I do more exercise on my last echo my EF was 40%. My device was fitted in 2017 and today I feel healthy thanks to my device, it’s my Wife’s best friend 🙂.

Thank you both. My figure is 33%. Had lbbb for many years 25-30 and after being so breathless and during a hand operation my sats were awful so sent to see cardiologist, having lots of tests l was found to have hf. On meds now and the verapamil for my arrhythmia was stopped. I am now breathing a bit better with less anxiety. The device will be discussed in July on my next appointment with hf nurse. Happy to hear you are getting on so well and my best wishes for the future.

I feel really lucky to have been offered the chance to have the device, grab it with both hands. Take care.
