Update . Phone call yesterday an hour before I was leaving to say no beds and to get into hospital for 7 am this morning.
Surgeon warned op might not go ahead and he's just came to say there's no icu beds and I'm to go home and wait another week.
4th time lucky maybe ? X

Hello
I am lost for words and I feel for you we are all different but this would have me devastated , I really hoped this was 3rd time lucky but here is to 4th time lucky I will continue to keep everything crossed for you x
I can only imagine you must be and I think these cancellations cannot be helped but after a certain amount they need to look at how this will start to affect patients Did they give you a day for next week ? x
How bitterly disappointing, but fate decided it wasn't going to happen right now. Did they give you any idea as to how long you'll have to wait for another appointment?
So sorry to read this, I had my fingers crossed for you. I know how you must be feeling, you get yourself all geared up for it only to have to have it cancelled. My AVR was cancelled several times before I actually got it done, so hopefully it will be fourth time lucky for you. I know my surgeon was as frustrated as me, but not much either of us could do about it as emergencies obviously need to take priority.Wendy x
I bet. Thankfully mine and my husband's employers were great about it, constantly having to rearrange cover etc, but we did feel bad about the inconvenience. Plus you get yourself all psyched up for the surgery only to have to go away and do it all again. In some ways it was probably a bit easier for me as it was my second AVR so I knew what to expect from the surgery, but still frustrating.
So sorry to hear this Barb, you couldn't make it up could you? I think there are some aspects of the NHS that are seriously broken. Fingers and everything else crossed for you for next week. X
How very frustrating for you and so hard to manage emotionally. I'm sure your surgeon is frustrated also. Its a bit worrying that so many ICU beds occupied by COVID patients - lets hope that there is a lull in demand for next week and you get your op out of the way and can get on with life with a mended heart. Fingers crossed for you.
Hi Barb sorry to hear your news. Use this week to relax and do something you and your Husband will enjoy and remember rather than thinking of the disappointment of another delay. God take care of ye and hopefully next Friday, you'll be waking up after your op. Lots of love and hugs x x
So desperately sorry to hear this. Canβt believe your luck ! I try to believe there is a good reason for things happening but itβs hard when itβs such a traumatic event and you have built yourself up for it. But stay positive if you can - less than a week now which hopefully can go quickly if you fill it with distractions - do lots of things you really enjoy. Thinking of you and π€π for next Thursday. Really feel for you
That's awful, you get all hyped up for the op, then they say its cancelled!! and so close to havingbit too!
I had that once, I was all ready, sitting in hospital with my gown and dressing gown on waiting to be called, then they came and said an emergency had come in and to go home!
So sorry that's happened to you. Fingers crossed for next time.
