Hi Autumn822

I thought I would start looking to see if there are any answers to some questions I have. Just came across your question .... no replies, I see. I'm struggling and Metoprolol has been suggested as a last alternative to me. Interestingly you mention SVT and the ectopics. Might I please ask ... are you doing research or have a problem yourself? Please let me know. Thanks and regards, Denise.

Hi! I have had episodes of PSVT. Daily eptopics and palpitations Mitral Valve prolapse..."mild" with regurgitation. I just switched from Metroporal to Propranolol this morning. It doesnt seem to be calming things as much. Yet it dropped my heartrate to 48 this morning when I was at my GP for regular check up. he told me to cut the dose in half. Only on 10mg 2x a day. IDK. The big issue with me is I already have had many episodes of bradycardia.so this isnt helping. Very frustrated. And wrestling with whether to get the vaccine.

Oh my goodness, it's the same for me! With no explanations for years .... I have so much paperwork (I read better if I print off).

Well I'm back on the Metroporal, the propranolol dropped my HR into the 40s and wore off in mid day. The metroporal is extended release. So far not helping much but just my first day. Not wanting the vaccine either for the same reason as you.My HR goes into mid to upper 40s at rest but otherwise in the 70s. Until i went on the beta blocker , with metroporal 50-65.

Sincere apologies for not replying Autumn, everything is a mess. I knew you had written, so I had to find you. How are you doing now - any better? I've not taken the Metoprolol and they know. I thought I should, but then read the contra-indications and from memory, there were three issues, one of which was regarding heart block. I do have first degree, but I have seen some longer flat lines and it frightens me. There's no one to talk to because everyone has thousands of patients. Two months down the line Autumn, do let me know how it's going. I'm back on line and will keep on top of things.

Recently I was prescribed Metoprolol Succinate 5 mg and Ramipril 25 mg daily. It took about a week to improve my condition of Sick Sinus Syndrome with Tachycardia to an almost regular pulse between 70 and 80 Bpm and to a less irritated mental condition. It is a combination of beta blocker and an ace inhibitor. This dose combination may work for others.
