Bisraprol to metoprolol

Hi all just wanted to know if any of you switch Beta Blockers from Bisraprol to Metoprolol?

I have been on Bisraprol for 6 months since my SVT since I have been on them I have been having these attacks on the left side of chest almost feels like an adrenaline release that’s last for a minute and make my heart beats fast for a minute or so.

GP today thinks it could be episodes of SVT so switch Beta blockers

So just wanted if anyone out switch Beta blockers and how they are finding it especially if you take these for SVT.

Thanks

Hi Paydayn01. I can't help yet, but I'm in a similar position. I've been on Bisoprolol (currently 5mg) for a year. I'm seeing my cardiologist tomorrow and will ask to switch to an alternative because I'm fed up with various side effects. These may possibly be due to my ACE inhibitors rather than the Bisoprolol, but I thought I'd try switching that first.

There seem to be various alternatives out there, so it's pointless suffering these side effects, when a simple change might alleviate them.

Good luck xx

Hi thanks for replying may I ask what side effects are you having?

Burning and/or hypersensitive feet, itchy hands, weight gain, fat deposits in one thigh, mild incontinence. As I say, these are probably not all down to the Bisoprolol (I am currently on 6 heart-related drugs), but the Bisoprolol and Ramipril seem the most likely suspects.

Well, I survived! Unfortunately, the consultant wouldn't change my Beta Blockers as he reckons Bisoprolol are the only ones that do the all round job that I need. Instead, he has agreed to swap my Ramipril (ACE Inhibitors) for Candesarten. I'll see if my side effects change at all.

Thank you so much for getting back to me that means a lot to me, I’m on 2nd day of metraprol still don’t see any difference suppose I need to give it a week at least

I was given a 3 week supply of Candesarten, so I assume I should be feeling a difference by then.

Curious how you’re feeling on the metoprolol. I’ve been on it six weeks for SVT and it makes me tired and depressed. Doc said I could try cardizem instead but I’m a little fearful to switch. I’m scheduled for an ablation and may just stick it out with the bb
