I had a heart attack in 2016, a stent fail in 2019 and an unexplained issue in 2020 - spent a week in hospital with a slightly elevated Troponin level (very slight but higher than my usual) and chest pain. I wouldn't allow an angiogram due to the horrible experience I had when my stent failed, and remained on the cardio critical list until December 2020. Now I'm on the 6 month catch up list! I was also diagnosed with type two diabetes. I have stable angina a heap of medication and a new gym membership!
I'm not a huge fan of my cardiologist, bed side manner leaves a lot to be desired I, however am passionate about the rehab team. Fabulous team, I was looked after by a patient angel called Susan, she kept me sane and stress free! I miss her contact now that I've passed out of rehab!!
Just had a cardiology appointment, discussed medication mostly and a stable angina issue. Next appointment with cardiology is in 6 months time. So far, so good!

Welcome. Hope we can fill the gap left behind from rehab, just remember we are not professionals, just fellow heart people that maybe can give suggestions and moral support. I had a cardiologist with no bedside manner, makes it difficult. Hard when you don't have choice because of where you live and mobility. Take care. Moni
Nope mate, you're not alone, there's plenty of us that have been through it and can give guidance so just ask.Helps to get any questions out there, no matter how daft you may think they are they definitely aren't so ask away...🙌👍
Hi from another Norn Iron hearty, albeit with very different medical issues.AF, Dilated Cardiomyopathy, borderline type 2 diabetes, glaucoma, arthritis, and have had a long spell in hospital with endocarditis in the past.
Have been well looked after by my NHS teams, compared to private treatment which I tried originally.
Welcome to the group and I’m sure you’ll find it as helpful as I have over the years.
While the consultant I had was brilliant, I can't speak highly enough of the rehab team. Are they giving you any help with the T2 diabetes? I have been put on a programme for the pre-diabetics to avoid medication.
No medication for T2 I reduced the level myself. I'm a little stubborn and prefer to manage myself. I'm not a huge fan of medication unless I absolutely must take it.
