Hi ever body, just been for my pre op yesterday, been self isolating with date set for op week Friday, aortic valve replacement and double by pass, going for the new Edwards Inspiris tissue valve.

Has anyone had the new Inspiris valve fitted, how are you doing.

Regards Presey

I have an edwards inspires tissue and it is probably the best bet. I had the AvR in May 2020 when the NHS had closed for all such operations. I paid a fortune, but it was life or death. The relevance is that I had top surgeons and they recommended the Edwards. The valves are being updated all the time. Best wishes

Hi there Presely and hope you’re doing ok waiting for your operation. And at least you have a date. I had the same heart valve (also I see we are around same age) - my AVR was only done 3 months ago and so far so good, fingers crossed 🤞🏻 😉! As Colin (Blackcatsooty) has said it is one of the newest tissue valves available and from all that I have read, very good. Also if your surgeon has recommended it well that’s another plus. Where are you having your operation? Wishing you all the best

Hi Jon - am sure all will go well and I would imagine your new surgeon is just as good. I had mine at The Harefield hospital- originally was going to be The Brompton but at the last minute there was a space at The Harefield and as they wanted to get me in sooner rather than later apparently after some tests, it was there. My surgeon works between the two hospitals as they’re linked. Keep us up to date with your progress.

Best wishes

Hello Presely,

I had the Inspiris Resilia valve fitted in March 2020 when I was 55. I really did my homework and this valve was a no brainer for me.

No blood thinning drugs and no ticking.

No issues at all and it should last 20 odd years before needing a service. When the time comes its a non invasive procedure to replace.

Nearly 18 months on its like it never happened. My scar is almost invisible (used bio oil for a couple of months). My life is totally back to normal.

Good luck.

Cheers

Des

Hi Presley,

I had the Inspiris Resilia valve in January this year. Early days, but so far no issues at all.

Best of luck with your op, Sam
