Woke up this morning with a smile, 5 years ago I was in theatre for Aortic valve replaced and bypass. It’s been a good 5 years, and as I have said many times before grateful every day to the medical team that gave me my life back.
I have an appointment for June of next year for my 5 year review and echocardiogram, and a face to face with my cardiologist. Not had an echo since 2019, pandemic related so it’s good to know I have one booked even though it’s next year 😂
Just wanted to say thank you to the members of the forum for the support and the laughter you have given me over the years. We really are the Hearties family.
Hope we all can wake up with a smile and look forward to facing the day.
Best wishes Pauline

Happy Anniversary , I'm glad you're doing so well. It's 12 weeks tomorrow since I had my AVR and aneurysm repaired . I'm thankful every day that I'm still here 🙂
You were one of the first people to help me on here when I had my AVR in January. I’d like to thank you for all the good advice and help and support you gave me and continue to do so.
I had an echocardiogram this week and the results were good. My new tissue valve has “seeded” nicely and everything seems fine. Annual echocardiograms from now on.
Good new should be posted regularly to boost us all and to realise that good things happen here too.
That was a great read, so pleased your echo was good. I know when I have had mine a do a little skip along the corridor 😂 I had a letter in June saying I was due for my 5 year review with an echocardiogram and face to face with my cardiologist, appointment made for 1st June 2022 so will be coming up to 6 years, but hey hoy could be worse!
Congratulations on your recovery, wonderful that you're enjoying life so much.
Incidentally, your sentiments about "feeling grateful" are interesting. I understand there's a strong link between people who feel a natural sense of gratitude, and people who score highly on a happiness scale. Like you I'm one life's "count your blessings" type, and I guess I'm also a fairly cheerful sort of bloke, so maybe there's something in the theory!
Thank you, you are someone I read whenever I see you have posted, even though I don’t have the same heart problems as you, your very wide knowledge is amazing. Hope you are doing well at the moment.
