Stopping Bisoprolol

Hi All, Having reduced my 1.25 dosage over 4 weeks I have now stopped but not sure on body feelings, always been into my sports but now struggling to play 18 holes of golf walking, finding very tired with a warming sensation in the chest area, no pain in arms etc but sleeping heavy with fatigue, looked around and it would seem the side effects of coming off but if anyone else out there has experience of this I would appreciate it, I have a docs appointment 3rd of Oct so I will see what his views are, just hoping this does wean off after a while what ever they may be !.

Hi Ken, was this withdrawal under supervision or just unilateral? Side effects coming off are very similar to going on so I have heard and read, would say about 2 -3 weeks before fully cleared from your system. I was on 5mg, reduced by doctor to 2.5 over two months ago, still feeling very tired in the evenings but at least awake till 9 pm, an extra 30 minutes. Admittedly this is post work days, weekends tend to be a little better

Hi and thanks for your swift reply, yes the doc agreed for me to a trial coming off, hence the 3rd Oct visit but its the warming in the chest area that I am concerned about more so with activity not experienced that taking the drug, but as I say maybe it is part of coming off but not a great feeling.

ah ok, haven't had any experience of that. We have a few members that have been on bisoprolol and come off it. try looking on Madgranny's profile, here healthunlocked.com/user/mad.... She was off and now back on a smaller dose. If you use the search function there a re a number of other posts here as well and doubtless one of the lovely members will come by with their own experiences

Skid is correct I had awful problems and got advice on here and from my GP. I was on 5mg cut to 2.5 for 2 weeks now on 3.5 and see how that goes. I have to take it at tea time or later no good to me in the mornings as I am very dizzy, tired and just feel dreadful. My GP is happy for me to take it in the evenings and so far good .i hopeit works out for you
