Question on Covid

If you test positive for Covid how long is it before you are no longer a carrier ?? Is it 10 days and then you are clear of it ?? Or do you need another test ?

Anyone know the answer genuine question as I am trying to understand. If the 50000 tested daily are positive is it 10 days before they are clear, or they may have been positive for 7days so only need 3 more days ??

Personally I find the advice very confusing.
