Angiogram results or not.

Hi, 3 weeks ago my husband had an angiogram at our local hospital. The cardiologist didn’t say anything other than he would talk to the other cardiologist. Today we received an appointment for an MRI scan in a couple of weeks time at a hospital about 20 miles. They don’t seem to be rushing but it’s the not knowing anything that I’m worried about. Just wondered if anyone else has to do this.

It is frustrating when they do that. Maybe just clearing up something before diagnosis. Not even a letter to your gp? Just stay calm, don't borrow worry. Keep yourself busy. It is easier said than done. Take care.

Thank you. Not sure on a letter to the gp but we haven’t had a copy. I’m just confused as to why he has to go to another hospital and not to the one where he had the angiogram. Hopefully we will hear something soon. Kind regards

I know mine checks with another hospital, but that is done on the day, long wait but at least an answer. I usually get a dvd of angiogram as well. Maybe phone hospital for answers. Stress not needed at this time. Depends on cardiologist experience. We are Regional Australia, all hospitals have different facilities, maybe that is why. Take care.

My local hospital can do an a angiogram but can't fit stents.I was admitted two weeks ago after suffering a small heart attack, I had to wait over a week to be transferred to another hospital for angioplasty.

There were lots of day patients in for elective angioplasty all looking and feeling fine.

I wouldn't worry, if your husband's case was urgent he'd have been in the cat lab by now.

Hi thank for all your replies. I’ve found out today that our local hospital can do angiograms but the heart mri are done in the one that is 20 miles away and is the specialist hospital. Hubby was diagnosed 6 months ago so we are still fumbling our way through. He’s fine about things but unfortunately I’m a worrier but slowly getting there. Thank you all again and take care

I don't know if this is the case with yourself but my Cardiologist said something like your husbands did. If they are not sure on the way forward they consult a consultant normally in the guise of a Multi Disciplinary Team Meeting., which in my opinion is a great way forward.

Hi Battie.I had an angiogram 4 years ago and was told I had to stay in hospital due to severe heart disease, a week later I had a quadruple bypass.

So you can see my experience is, if it's major they will tell you, but in any case try not to worry.
