Anyone noticed increased sensitivity to sun when on Bisoprolol beta blocker ? I’ve had just light sun exposer from the garden but look like I’ve been in Barbados for 3 months,

Hi! Not noticed anything. An important point is that as we age the outer layer thins and the skin loses elasticity so is more affected by the sun. Definitely limit exposure during the hottest part of the day and use sun cream as appropriate. At this time of year with a slight cooling breeze the sun can be stronger than you think! 🌞

Since taking my cocktail of drugs I need to cover up more in the sun and always wear a hat. The sun is not good for you!

Hi, I personally never noticed this. However, everyone is different and become sensitive in different ways. Talk to your specialist.

Thanks, I also just read that the sun is at its strongest at this time extra high UV rays so maybe it’s that .. I know we are always inclined to blame our meds:)

Hi.Are you on any other medication? I know one that I was on did say that whilst taking it you would be hyper sensitive to the sun - sorry can't remember which one, but I am on bisoprolol too.

Actually some statins and diuretics can increase sensitivity but not in the majority of people.

One for the ladies is that alpha-hydroxy acids in cosmetics can increase sensitivity. You will have to do your own research as cosmetics are not on my radar. I wonder why? 🤣🤣🤣

I actually never wear make-up so doesn't apply in my case. Lol
