feelings with bisoprolol
Hello
I thought I was the worst with side effects and how I get anxious you may be beating me though bless you
First did you mention all this to the Doctor if you did what did they say and if you did not why ?
I keep repeating myself I know but you are on the smallest dose there is so hopefully the side effects will get less as you adjust to them
The side effects you say are just a few minutes which passes which if so is not bad as far as side effects go as sometimes people can have them all day
Trying to let them come and pass with out panicking when they happen and not focus in on them to much which I know is really hard to do but can be done if you try and let go
Keep the positive thoughts of how much they are helping your heart and tell yourself they outweigh the slight side effects you get now and again
If after all this in a couple of weeks you really feel you cannot carry on then you will have to go back to the Doctors and tell them how they are making you feel but hopefully you will settle and not have to
You are doing really well x
i,m trying to take on board what you tell me , but lately i,ve been anxious ,irritably , nervouse. i think i do to much thinking about these problems, done a lot of walking lately to clear my mind ,which helps , also get quite angry at times , its just that when i get these sensations it just sets my mind racing, i,ve been reading other peoples thoughts about what they go through, a,lot worse then me , but can,t seem to concentrate when reading a book or mag , as soon as a slight sensation ,my brain starts going back to the problem. Did, t bring it up with the gp because i was thinking about the blood presure test, results .and also got a problem with bad nerves in neck and shoulder from a car accident , get trapped nerves causing aburning sensation in the armpit area at times when i move about sometimes, been seeing the physio and doing exercises , i think its starting to help .but again when i get this burning sensation the brain goes off. Did, use to be like this a tall.
Hello
I know you are trying as I am just the same as you and people think she must like been like that , she is not trying and yet if they only knew the suffering and how it feels they would know that no one would put themselves through this if they can help it
I am having a dreadful day around meds my health and panic has followed me all day so I know how you feel but I know I don't want anyone to suffer like I do and when I was young there was no help and it has now become who I am but you could get some help if you needed it and if you think that might be a good idea again ask your Doctor
Do you open up to your Doctor if they do not know exactly what is going of they do not know the best way to help you and whatever you say they have heard it all before so you will never shock them
The things I used to be able to do I find I cannot do anymore and they would distract me but since the heart issues that seems to be all I can think about and I can watch the TV and my head still does not shut up I could tell you exactly what happened with what I had just watched as well as what my head was panicking over while I was watching it so I understand again how you feel and the anger is part of the anxiety I think we can get so frustrated with ourselves it is such hard work dealing or trying to deal with it why I would encourage you to get help with it
Whatever anyone is going through you can have empathy and try and support them the best you can but you have to live with your own issues and because you do they always feel worse because you can only feel your own pain and suffering so it always is going to feel the worse but then you can look at it if these people that are in a worse situation were offered just one little low dose of a med and they would be so much better would they take it yes of course they would and that is what you are been give a low dose of a med to help your symptoms from getting worse
I am not a Doctor something has triggered you of to be this way now you may not know what it is one day it might come to you what has started it but for now this is what is happening and I would say you have anxiety and a med fear as well as your pain from your accident and your heart issues and it has triggered of anxiety but you can do this one small tablet to keep you well maybe a bit of a light head a hot flush now and again but worth it if you can still go to work and staying healthy
Walking is the best thing you can do good for the heart as well as your Mental Health so that is brilliant and if it is helping as well then you have found something to keep you healthy as well as helping how you feel so keep doing it
Remember if you need help ask for it if you are struggling so much and I am sure you would be offered it x
Thank you for your advice, I,m sorry to hear you are struggling, I feel guilty about talking about this when you and a lot of other people with the same problem are going through the same experiences or worst, I,ll give it a couple of more weeks and see how things go, if they Don,t improve I,ll go and see the Doctor, only problem is you can never see the same one who originally you talked to when the problem started occuring so they Don,t get how you really feel, and sometimes i find it hard talking to them.I hope things improve for you.
Hello
You must never feel guilty you have nothing to feel guilty about the idea of this Community is to try and help each other where we can to share our experiences so others know it is not just them and they are not alone and you are not alone
The Doctor you like to see maybe this would be a little naughty but how about seeing if they have a pre booked appointment you could make as mostly you have to wait a couple of weeks for them and then if you found you did not need it which I hope you dont you could always cancel it ?
Just a thought but see how you feel and I am lucky I always get the same Doctor and I understand it can be hard when things start to get complex starting all over again it is better if you can see the same one who has got to know you and your history a little bit
You are doing so much better than you think I will be honest when you first started posting over this med I did not think you would stick it out 2 weeks and yet here you are and you have and prepared to try another 2 weeks so to someone on the outside reading your struggle this is a real achievement so feel proud of what you have done so far and I really hope you can continue
Let us know how you get on x
Thank you for that,I do feel sometimes better when i read other things from this community, learnt quite a lot, and I,ll take on board about what you said about the doctors appointment and will let you know how things go.
I also had dizziness and was on bisoprolol 1.25mg, I did take mine at bedtime and dizziness was a bit better, but my pulse was still lowish- around 60, I have now come off it and pulse is around 80,I had it for AF which am not in at moment
I have experienced similar sorts of feelings and anxiety since starting Bisoprolol. I was put on 2.5 which dropped my blood pressure too much and all I could do was lie down or sit still to reduce the feelings of fainting. I've dropped to 1.25 and through time and determination to keep going I've adapted to this dose. Ive had to accept that taking the lower dose allows me to function, but means that the rapid heart rate is not as controlled as it could be. When my heart rate increases, I stop and rest even at work. Have a decaf cuppa and a biccy. For me it's rest up for 30 mins and get going when I feel a bit better. I've had to give up mu teaching career and move to admin. I chose to carry on living with a less demanding job rather than die for my career. It's been about balancing quality of life and still being able to function and go to work. I hope you manage to find some balance in your life too that allows your anxiety to reduce.
when I first went on it I was dizzy and lightheaded when I stood up too quickly (especially when the Amazon man called) however it got less as I became used to the med. Now it happens very rarely and find marching on the spot for 30 seconds helps
I had to come off it as it dropped my pulse rate too low leading to extreme tiredness and chest pain. Everyone reacts differently to medication, hopefully you will feel better soon. If you don’t feel better soon, I think you need to ask your doctor to review your meds. Best wishes.
Blood pressure good but some of the other effects, get to me ,working on how not to get to work up about it.
Keep a record of how you and when you feel ok. I found that when I woke up in the morning I felt ok but after taking my meds I went downhill until the evening when I started feeling better again. (medication wearing off). This was after my Bisoprorol had been increased. When I came off Bisoprorol everything improved. It can take a while to get the right combination of drugs that suit you. I hope this happens soon for you.
1.25 also, 7 stand up and blackouts, tinnitus
“Stand up and Blackout” now stopped after diet .minimum heart rate was 47 bpm, is now55-65.
Apple Watch for monitoring heart rate
hi, I was on 1.25mg Bisoprolol, post a successful cryoblation, two years ago. I started to get very light headed and dizzy, from about three months after, I couldn’t function normally. So, after changing cardiologists, I came off the Bisoprolol a year later and the symptoms drifted away. They say such a small dose shouldn’t bother you, but it did me…I titrated off it over 2/3 weeks….some are v reluctant to take you off meds….best wishes….
I came off 1.25mg about 10 days ago after being on it for four months. I can't say I noticed that much in the way of side effects when I was on it, other than it definitely dropped my heart rate by about 15% (but then that's the whole point of it).
Maybe I felt colder and a bit more breathless walking upstairs, but that could also have been my imagination as it wasn't that significant and it hasn't changed that much since coming off it. I've always felt dizzy if I get up too suddenly, especially after a cup of tea. My ectopic beats were a bit worse after it left my system but appear to be gradually getting better again.
I'd just rather not take a drug unless I know it's totally necessary and I'm not sure this was right now. My cardiologist was fine with me deciding to try and stop. Not to say I won't go back to it in the future though, especially if the ectopic beats start getting worse again.
I think you have to give it a few weeks to see if things settle down, or you just adjust to the fact that you are taking it. I definitely find that my symptoms get worse the more I think about them!
My cardiologist says he advises patients to try and push through until your body gets used to it, for the benefits in the long run. I am on 10 mg bisoprolol and take it at night as I have candesartan and spironolactone in the morning. I felt dreadful at first but persevered and got through it. Now my cardiomyopathy is stable.
Just my experience : I am nearly a year on from a CABG, post op was put on 2.5mg of bisoprolol, didn't like the cold hands and feet side affects, so after consultation dropped to 1.25mg. Last week got sign off from cardio after a review, my heart function is normal, Doc said that 1.25mg wasn't even a "dose" and said I could stop taking bisoprolol. Interesting thing was that pior to this (January) I asked if I could come of the bisoprolol and Cardio said no.No matter what you do you need to be advised by the experts.
I have been on bisoprolol since 2018 and also have tinnitus,I can honestly say I've had no problems, sorry I can't help.
hope you’re ok. I was very light headed on Bisoprolol and told GP I was fainting frequently. It was only because one day I fainted chopping vegetables for dinner that they had to do something about it. The knife I was using fell onto my foot, piercing it, and attaching me to the floor. Ambulance crew was fantastic. A&E patched me up and cardiologist had to stop 1.5mg dose. He assured me that it couldn’t have been responsible due to the low dose. But I haven’t fainted since!
I am wondering whether I need some meds though as my HR goes from 60 resting to 160 resting at times. Trip to GP required (me thinks!!).
Hi mobyfool.
Get out in nature as much as you can. When you have an 'attack' as you describe, try breathing in slowly for 4 and breath out slowly for 8. Do this about 3 times and wait about a minute before doing that again if necessary.
I take Bisoprolol at night, (2.50 mg) and although I do have some slight dizziness still and often feel like I'm climbing Everest when I am walking on the flat, I have got more used to it now. It's taken several months and I do some alternative healing and looking into injunctions from childhood as well, which I know has helped. I feel my symptoms are OK compared with the terrible time I have if my heart goes into arrhythmia - so I am sticking with the Bisoprolol.

Have been doing a fair bit of walking the past 3 weeks but i seem to get the feelings in the evening, but not as bad lately , i do get the feeling of sometimes , short of breath during the day, and slight light head feelings. i,ll try the breathing technique when it happens again.
