Is there any truth in an article I have just read in The Sun/ Daily Mail on taking medication such as Ramipril in increasing chances of serious symptoms if you catch covid 19 ?

Thanks. It's an interesting thread. At the moment I'll continue taking Ramapril but hate the cough I've had for years!!

I sometimes think their readers should not be allowed to vote! 😁

There's rarely any truth in the sun or the mail.

Why on earth would you ever believe anything you read in the Sun or the Daily Mail? For that matter - why are you even reading that rubbish?

Some people read the Sun because the crosswords are easy.

It’s so difficult to know what to believe- it’s great we have so much information nowadays but before the WWW arrived- we probably worried less!!!

That's a conversation I had last night with a friend. She suffers dreadfully with anxiety and this is just making her ten times worse. I have threatened to take away her phone and tablet if she doesn't start limiting herself

the Scum has quite a few cross words - what ever will increase sales and get them publicity!

OK I have read the information about this it is not just on the Sun.

The way that Ramapril and associated meds work the report has come from Scientists in Switzerland and Greece, a paper apparently published in the Lancet Respiratory Medicine have information on the Ace inhibitors also.

I and my husband are taking Ramipril I need to pick up my meds this weekend so intend asking the Pharmacist.

But also this can be a question on here for the BHF nurses.

Good to be aware I think

Keep smiling and only take on board info that you need, that is what I am trying to do .

On the 21st of this month is the first Anniversary of my Heart Attack so would like to celebrate I and the Medics fantastic job,

Lots of Smiles to you All

there is some suggestion that anti-inflammatory medications can cause problems but on this site they suggest taking ibuprofen - & my husband takes aspirin - I wish we could get clear advice on this?
