Has anyone experience of using Ivabradine instead of Betablockers

Using Ivabradine
I've been on it a few months now, as well as propanolol, I haven't had any side effects, didn't have much choice. Everyone reacts to medications differently, so reading the side effects can make you anxious. Just take it one day at a time, and keep note of any changes. I use my notes on my phone, that way when talking to doctor I can be clear of my concerns. Take care.
I’m on Ivabradine to replace Bisoprolol. I take one twice a day. I can’t say I have any specific side effects but have noticed I get more headaches lately.
I have been taking Ivabradine since HA in June 2020 but take 7 other tablets too so it is difficult to know what side effect to attribute to which drug. Can you talk to your cardio nurse about your concerns?
I take Ivabradine twice a day and Bisoprol (once a day).
Ivabradine is prescribed when the patient has not high blood pressure, but high heart rate.
I've just switched from Bisoprolol to Ivabradine on consultants advice, as part of treatment for unstable (possible microvascular) angina which started about 12 months ago. I had been on Bisoprolol since HA in December 2017. Coming off Bisoprolol had side effects, chest pain and breathlessness worse and anxiety levels sky high. They settled after three or 4 weeks and started to feel better, GP increased Ivabradine from 2.5mg twice per day to 5mg per consultant instruction and again I suffered from chest pains for a week or so. Much better after 2 or 3 weeks and mood has improved considerably. Combined with Amlodipine it seems to have got the worst aspects of unstable angina under control. Although stable angina seems the same or worse.Report back to consultant in mid May. No noticeable side effects from the Ivabradine.
Good luck!
Hi there. I was put on ivabradine after serious reaction to Diltiazem but also mono nitrate tablets to try to control increasing number of angina (micro vascular) attacks. Sadly the attacks continued and blood pressure way too high so amlodipine prescribed and ranolazine in addition to 7 other tablets. So difficult to say which ones are causing current side effects which include headaches, flaky skin, swelling of stomach and abdomen (look at least 6 months pregnant !!) with some pain and really bad constipation. What symptoms are you experiencing? Have you spoken to GP or cardiologist about them ? I really hope you are ok
