Anyone use an Air fryer?

I was recently given an Airfryer and have used it a few times, hoping it will save me money, instead of using the oven. It produces good garlic and Rosemary roast potatoes, and sweet potato fries! (Uses almost no oil) But haven’t really found many other good recipes. I am vegetarian.

I use it mainly for chicken drumsticks and pork chops, but when it comes to veggies, it does a good job of sprouts or radishes.

Ah, yes, I saw that in a magazine about air fried sprouts. I’ll give those a go.

My sister has one but mainly used for chicken and salmon. I did overhear someone talking about Ratatouille and Feta filo parcels. Sounds tasty! 😋

They do sound tasty, but Feta is quite salty! I used to put salt on everything, but obviously try and avoid it now. Thanks

I rinse my feta now before using. Read the tip in a heath magazine.

Oh, good idea - I do that with olives in brine

I use this site for ideastaste.com.au/search-recipes...

Good luck

Oh, thanks, I’ll take a look. The Air fryer is quite big and it’s sitting on the side in the kitchen reminding me I need to use it! Did some more roast veg in it last night - butternut squash, tomatoes, mushrooms, red pepper, etc and put balsamic vinegar on it - very tasty 👍

sounds delicious, I have roasted Whole sweet potato, broccoli and cauliflower in the air fryer as well as stuffed peppers. Must use it more myself. There are a lot of recipes on that site for vegetarians that can be adapted for air fryer as well

We use it a lot for making stir frys & sweet & sour prawns/veg.

Love mine and opted for the Ninja foodie one that you can steam etc etc with , was so impressed that I got another one. [ 1x big,1x small ]

Now I never use the big oven at all and can cook anything using the two if needed.

Yes, wishing I’d got a steamer one too. They’re good aren’t they?!

in reply to

Honestly once you get used to them, yup a few mistakes,

I use them now all the time and can’t remember the last time I used the main oven.

That’s what I’m hoping for as energy bills getting so high!

Hi if you're on Facebook this group is great for ideas and or help on how to get the most out of air fryers. I love mine and use it loads. Roasted chickpeas with marmite or lemon and pepper flavouring makes a great crispy snack instead of crisps. Even done crispy kale but you really have to watch it as it burns so easily.

Oh, thanks / that looks really useful. Did lots of veg in it earlier - butternut squash, sweet potato, green and red peppers, mushrooms, etc and then a sweetcorn con with chilli flakes on. All very tasty and pretty quick

I had one for Christmas but haven't used it as yet!!

Oh dear! I was a bit scared of using mine, but I think it’s going to be really useful. It’s not that much quicker than an oven, but apparently cheaper - and easy to clean
