Hi I'd just like to say a massive hello and thank you for welcoming me into this group but I have been struggling majorly since a cardiac arrest I had a year ago and I struggle to speak but I can get my feelings out on paper etc and it got me thinking as I'm on furlough if there was to be a youtube video or a podcast for dealing and coping with anxiety what would you like to hear or see that would or could help you and get you listening or watching?

I hope this isn't against the rules and if so I'm very sorry I just wanted to do something good and worthwhile to help people like me who are in need and give myself something to keep my mind active and busy.

Many thanks if you got this far and thank you for any input that is given.

Have a good evening and stay strong "it's not here to stay, IT is here to pass"

Peace and love to you all

I am also a cardiac arrest survivor. Mine happened in August 2019 which was from a heart attack due to a blocked artery. I have found a lot of information on suddencardiacarrestuk.org which is a support group for survivors of a SCAs. There is also a Facebook group with plenty of support for people in our position. Hope this helps xx

HiI've been living with the after effects of a quad bypass for just over 2 years and furloughed since last March (it's a bitch and some people think its easy) although my physical health has been improved since my op the mental side of things with post op/event episodes does seem to be overlooked a bit and it's almost as difficult to get your head around as the recovery from surgery/event. Well that's my view of it but I'm still and will remain forever grateful for what they done with my re-plumbing job around the heart.

Anyway back to your question ref podcasts, there's a guy on youtube (Tom Urie - swim for land) It's only a short series of 6 podcasts but has various people on chatting about anxiety and how its effected them and some of the things they've done to try and cope, maybe worth a listen.

It's good that you're even able to write down how you sometimes feel as it's always a forward step you're taking and the next one (to talk to someone) can be easier if you find a good friend or try and ask your gp for some sessions of CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) I know it helped me a lot of years ago and writing down was part of the package or even just come onto here and have a ramble we're always ready to listen and maybe throw our tuppence in every so often. Do remember if you have family (not sure if you're living on your own) but if you have family they've also been through this with you (something I forgot at first and took time to realise) so they will have their own concerns about you and as hard as it is talking's good when it's a two way thing.

Hope you manage to find what you need, take care and try to enjoy life, we're all here for the journey not the destination 😀
