I'm slightly surprised at the dose - is it 1.25mg not 125mg? If so that's the same dose I am on. I take mine in the morning 1/2 hour before breakfast. No issues with food or side effects for me, but suggest you look at the medicine leaflet and any doctor's instructions.

What really made a difference to my BP was totally giving up caffeine in any form, since my hypertensive crisis last November the meds were making a difference but improvement was sluggish and still subject to spikes; since packing up caffeine my BP has settled down .. last readings ( two twice a day for 5 days) were a consistent average128/60; it maybe worth a try for say a week and see if it makes a difference to you.

Cut down on salt. We all need some but it's hidden in foods. I no longer cook with salt; I Use herbs instead

I take half a 2.5 mg tablet, a 50mg Cilazapril tablet and a 100mg aspirin tablet. I started taking bisoprolol to reduce my heart rate. IKt is i90bpm and my bp is 103/90
