Hi I’m interested in speaking to anyone with a 10% or low e/f - how have you progressed ? How long did it take to gain normality ? How much did your e/f increase? Are you back working ? Etc any info be appreciated

My EF was 15%. Entresto really helped. After 3 months my EF under stress was 40%.

If you are not on Entresto, ask your Heart Failure Nurse if it is an option for you.

It’s success rate is phenomenal so much so that the consultants told me all figures eg. Mortality rate etc are so out of date - eg the horrible ones we have all googled - in his words entresto was a game changer - I was really fortunate that I was put on it quite quickly - it’s expensive around £450 a mont I gather and maybe why many are not put on it immediately . I didn’t react well to the initial cheap option , but to be honest I got the impression the consultant was pleased didn’t do entresto could be used . I’ve read entresto studies online that have said marked increase in e/f at 6 months and a year. So I’m really hoping it works! Not just for me but all of you too !

Hi, entresto is the way forward, once you are up to the full dose of 97/103 it will make a huge difference, you are on a quarter dose at the moment so a long way to go, stick with it

Hi scoopdog, I was diagnosed with EF at 10% in 2016. Never been on entresto but prescribed bisoprolol 10mg, candesartan 32mg and eplerenone 25mg (slowly up to these amounts!). After 6 months an echo showed 25%,then at one year an MRi Showed 40%. Never had any more tests or scans so I don't know if I improved further or what! 40%was deemed OK and I manage. I returned to work part time at 6 months in and work half time now from home generally doing admin but hear of lots of others who work in more physical jobs. Actually I tend to be better when I'm active more than sitting! Probably a bit more heart Pumping encouragement helps!! I walk the dog every day and don't suffer from swelling or SOB so lucky there, everyone is different. Hope that's a help!

Thanks pommel that’s encouraging- yeah all different but still great to hear. I work for Nspcc and travel to schools out on the outer Hebrides etc which often involves days away from home and a lot of driving, flights on small 12 seater planes and ferry rides ! I’m anxious to return to that(visits to schools won’t be till 2021 anyway) but I’m not sure it’s realistic to expect such work to be suitable anymore. So I’m trying to think ahead as much as I can . I’m glad you seem to be doing so well - long may it continue !

I reckon you should just try it out and see. Be open to changes in what you can do and hopefully so will your employer! Glad the entresto is helping! 😊
