E bike nerves

E bike test tomorrow morning, I'm nervous about blood pressure being raised. I know I will be in safe hands but reading that you're kept going till end point is what worries me. I also get asthma when I exercise and don't want to have a severe attack but am anticipating it.

I assume you mean a stress ECG. Discuss your worries with the staff - they will look after you and stop the test if there are any concerns. A friend's was stopped, and he was admitted and had a bypass five days later. Without the test it may have been "game over"! :(

He is fit and well a decade later!

I had one about 10 days ago. I agree with MichaelJH that it's best to tell the staff about your worries. In my experience they don't keep you going beyond what you can physically do. I was told the main thing is not to stop suddenly unless they tell you. Try to anticipate when you are reaching your end and tell them about three minutes before so they can take the best pictures. Good luck!

Hi

End point is what is Your Target it's calculated on age, health etc as far as I know. I also believe the test is also called "Bruce Protocol" You are monitored all through the test and for a little while after, no need to worry. You are safer doing the test than walking in the street !!

Regards

Thank you. Had it done and home safe. They had to stop the test before the end point was reached.

About the Asthma, it may be milk related. I have gone vegan, to improve my health, and my wife has joined me. Since we went vegan in March my wife's asthma, hay fever and susceptibility to bronchitis have disappeared. You could try knocking off dairy products for a month and see how you go. Beware! It is not easy, there are milk related things in lots of products. I don't include eggs in "diary products" as some people do. We don't eat them anyway, being vegan.

Not what you're looking for?
