There have been studies which suggested Ubiquinol might lower blood pressure,
Unfortunately these aren't particularly large studies, so these benefits are a long way from being proven. This demonstrates a common issue with medical trials, Ubiquinol can't be patented, so there's no incentive for a drug company to invest the huge sums required for genuinely robust trials.
I think its doubly unfortunate in this case as high blood pressure is sometimes called "the silent killer", in that it often has no symptoms but still exacts a terrible toll. These studies, although by no means definitive, are sufficiently positive indicators that it's a shame the money can't be found for larger tests. Especially as there seems to be no material side effects from Ubiquinol, where as this forum is full of side effect complaints about established blood pressure lowering medication such as Bisoprolol.
I tried Ubiquinol, while regularly monitoring my blood pressure, but personally (ie, a totally irrelevant sample of one!) I found more benefit from prescribed medication, exercise, and salt reduction.
Hi, my husband takes ubiquinol. He has Dilated Cardiomyopathy. He just feels better on it than without it. His cardiologist and GP both said if that’s the case to carry on with it. He also takes vitamin D in accordance with government guidelines but not K2 as he’s on Warfarin for a mechanical Aortic Valve.
