Heart healthy breakfast good or bad?

Hi guys not sure this is the correct place to post so apologies if it isn’t, I’m just curious about what people would consider a very good heart healthy meal at breakfast time especially if time is of the essence first thing before work etc.

I’ve never been the best at breakfasts but lately I’ve been having what I’m hoping is a healthy way to start my day. I hate porridge as I hate the smell and warm texture I don’t know why it just makes me want to throw up.

But I’ve started having overnight oats, my recipe I’ve been using is as follows....

I make enough to put into 4 glass jars which I put in the fridge and it gives me 4 breakfasts to go at.

I start with a big bowl and add 2 cups of 100% whole grain oats, 1 cup of Greek natural fat free yoghurt, 2 tbsp of chia seeds, I then use one scoop of chocolate weigh protein and unsweetened almond milk blend the milk and protein then pour into the bowl and mix all the ingredients together then put into my four glass jars. I then add blueberries and strawberries and a tbsp of chopped almonds to each jar.

Would people say this is a good healthy breakfast each morning or could someone give me some healthier ideas if this isn’t? Thanks guys.

Yes - sounds great ! roughly what I do without chocolate or wey and I vary the seeds. I use organic jumbo oats as I like the heavier texture. Also I sometimes add grated apple later or either a couple of dried figs prunes dates or a few raisins (then chop them later) for a touch of sweetness. This breakfast keeps me beautifully regular, lowers chlorestrol and sustains all morning.... Sometimes I mix a handful of oatbran with an egg, manipulate it together to make stiff dry dough and then heat both sides in lightly greased pan. Eat with peanut butter. (This invention is quite odd and clumpy and definitely not for everyone! I just love peanut butter and like to have oats virtually every day)

Sounds good. I use oat milk instead of almond, occasionally treat myself to a carrot cake version with grated carrot, cinnamon and a couple of teaspoons of dried fruit. It’s very versatile - may have to try making more than two at once for convenience! Have converted husband who being half Scottish loves his porridge made with water and a smidge of salt.

yes funny how porridge grows on you . Treacle sounds interesting to try - I use a little honey - but with cinnamon raisins and cardamom bits put in it find it tastes quite sweet . Wish microwaves grew on me - just the idea of them gives me palpitations !!
