Chest pain I am almost 12 months post bypass surgery and my chest feels like it was yesterday??? Could this be the cold weather as I have recovered really well??? Anyone else find the cold weather a pain?

Hi Wendy

Hope you are having a good weekend I had an AVR last September and like your self I have chest pain when I am outside in the cold It may be due to having the sternum cut.

Can’t help can it 😊 I think it is something to do with the cold weather as I was doing so well. Thanks for replying, what is AVR ?

Hi

No there's not much you can do or how you feel you obviously think the worse.Just make sure you're wrapping up extra warm when you go out at least the snow has gone at the moment.I had a mechanical aortic valve and a mitral valve repair like most people it came out of the blue.I hope you are recovering well apart from the usual aches and pains

HiSorry forgot to answer your question a AVR is an aortic valve replacement it's one of 4 valves in the heart mine went floppy causing blood to leak back into the heart making it work harder

Thank you PaulI guess I better get used to it then. I think my operation saved my life so I am not complaining at all. Like is good 🙏🤪❤️
