Chest pains with fan blowing.

Does anyone else find they are getting chest pains if they have a fan blowing on their upper body? Or is it only me. I can only have the fan blowing on my feet.

Hello :-)

I can't say that fans blowing give me chest pains the heat and cold do make my scar hurt though where I had my Bypass

In a way it is better to have the fans keeping our feet cool and that way helping the rest of the body to stay cool as we forget in Winter they say keep your feet warm and wear a hat to keep heat in so cold air blowing on on feet I find is working ok :-) x

Hi BeKind28, it is nice having cool feet I must admit but it doesn’t seem to help my all round body heat, but I’m sure we can all relate to that. The secret at the moment for me is don’t move around too much. Stay safe everyone.

Hello :-)

You did make me laugh when you said the secret for you is not moving about to much as that is exactly what I have been doing to moving as little as possible so we both have had the same secret :-) x

You’ll be pleased to know that as strange as it sounds it’s isn’t just you. I also feel discomfort when cold air from the fan is on my chest and back. I suffer with CAS and the skin now feel super sensitive. If that makes sense

Thank you for replying, I have used an electric fan before in hot weather but this is the first time I have found it has given me chest pains to the point I have to use my spray.

this warm weather is the perfect excuse to lie on the sofa allday and binge watch netflix.the only problem is though does mean i have to move around more when the weather cools down?

I'm looking forward to the weather cooling down a bit but not going away totally. I wonder if we will get some good old-fashioned British summer.

Hello, you’re not on your own. I also get chest pain when I have a fan blowing on my upper body, especially in the car. As soon as I direct the air away from me it’s fine.

Well, I don't feel it was such a silly comment now I'm not the only one noticing it.

I had my heart attack when we lived in Spain and I must say that I felt worse when we lived there because of the heat that is why we moved back to UK. I am not a lover of fans and air conditioning but needs must sometimes.

Nothing to do with chest pain but many years ago when I was a student nurse I remember being instructed to put a fan on someone’s wet feet to bring their temperature down, apparently we loose a lot of heat through the soles of our feet 🤷🏼‍♀️

Bekind28 said a similar thing so it is certainly something to remember.

Hi,

I definitely have chest pain if the air conditioning in the car is on facing at me.

But I am affected by the cold most of all, also heat and stress.

I have micro vascular angina, one of a few names it’s been called 😀

Maybe it's causing pain because the blood vessels contract/constrict? And we are all taking medication to prevent that!
