After a heart attack mid February 2020, I developed silent reflux causing the back of my throat to become sore and affecting my speaking and singing which became croaky.
Following advice from a Speech and Language Therapist this has been mainly resolved by me taking a couple of tps of Gavascon Advance 2 or 3 times a day. I was also advised to use a nasal spray of a weak solution of water, salt and bicarbonate of soda.
My heart meds include Lansoprazole, Ticagrelor (2x aday), asprin, bisoprolol, ramipril and atorvastatin.
I'm just wondering whether I will have to buy Gavascon Advance for evermore to take along with my heart meds?
Anyone else experiencing this minor problem?

Hi i had similar symptons and kept having to clear my throat. I went to a specialist and had a camera up my nose and down to my throat. I was informed there was nothing nasty and to take gaviscon advanced for 6 weeks . Apparently its very common and i was told it would probably go away itself or perhaps not. It hasnt gone away and i just suck jakemans sweets which sooth my throat. I have found that my reflux condition has increased since being on the same medication as you.
Hi EllesterThanks for your reply. Sorry to hear that you have the same problem with silent reflux. At least I know now that it's not just happening to me.
