I have Angina and AF normal heart rate at rest is 55 to 60. Last night and today it has gone to 137 and 141 this was when sleeping. I also keep getting a slight twitch on my right eyelid. Sometimes this maybe 10 or more times a day others just once or twice.
A few weeks ago I felt as though my body had electric shock and jolted. I had pains in my chest and took the GTN spray which worked.
Any thoughts on these issues.
Regards
Paul

Hi really interesting post and responses, how do you monitor your Heart Rate? Smart Watch? I had a mild HA In May2019, I woke up dizzy and had some increase in HR but never sure if that was fear and anxiety over what was happening, I was stented and have been OK since (all being well touch wood etc etc) but with all of us anxiety sits in the back ground every day, some days more than others and as such I watch my sleep patterns and blood oxygen and HR daily from a Garmin watch, the accuracy is suppose to be very good on the model I have but even then it still goes alittle wild, yesterday walking around it had a spike to 135BPM that I noticed but when I checked manually my pulse it was about 65/ 70 so I think it was double counting. your spikes seem very high, you sound like me 50 - 60BPM normally and my greatest night spike was about 80, (that scared me but I think it was me noticing it up and the anxiety kicked in to raise it higher) night time your HR lowers mine always in the hours before waking down to about 45bpm and although we are all different you spike sounds very high, not to scare you as it might be normal for you, but it could be your monitor or I think I would ask the GP or cardiologist,I note the other comment, I notice odd spike that I am sure are dreams that other spike when I have watched a film late that has action moments in, sounds crazy but I note it often on my monitor when I check in the morning, dream spikes I am assuming and the night starts with a higher HR even though I am resting laying down, the first 2 hours after sleep can be higher than in the day, crazy but a really interesting topic.
Thanks Phil. I have a smart watch got one for around 30 quid to try out before investing in a dearer model. Strange readings but also had a couple of high readings in day time just sat down so a bit baffled. I have noticed though not particular angina symptoms but more chest pain or pricking so may be the AF. Mentioned it to GP nurse but she said nay have to wear a monitor for a few days.
Yes I guess the only real way of telling is if they do a 24 or 48 hour ECG monitor on you, thats fun walking around all strapped up all day to teg little machine and you just go around your buisness and ypu have to sleep with it on,or if you catch the moment that the reading is high you take a reading manually from your wrist or via an app if you have a smart phone that has that function, mine does thats how I know that when my watch on a free occasions was reading 130+ BPM firstly I know I would feel my heart racing that much and secondly I checked it on my phone and it was double counting and my HR was about half what it said. So I know they can read wrong some times and mine is one with what has been reviewed as a very accurate reliable sensor, I use it to go running and cycling.
