Hello Gadhia

Welcome to the forum.

I am sorry that you have had Covid 19.

There is evidence that Covid 19 virus can damage the inner lining of the blood vessels known as endothelial dysfunction and the heart muscle itself causing myocarditis.

The BHF has this information about how Covid is thought to be a disease of the blood vessels

bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo...

Endothelial dysfunction can also lead to a temporary narrowing or constrictions of your coronary arteries, coronary vasospasms, Vasospastic angina.

The BHF has this information about vasospastic angina.

bhf.org.uk/informationsuppo...

Have you been able to speak to your Cardiology team about what has happened?

I suggest you give the BHF helpline Cardiac nurses as call too. They work at the weekends.

I was diagnosed with vasospastic angina over 8 years ago and like you had no heart or health problems beforehand.

How are they treating your vasospasms?

Many of the medications used are also used to treat high blood pressure.

There are some other forum members who have had Covid 19 or live with vasospastic angina and hopefully they will be along to share their experiences with you too.

A friends young daughter who is a doctor has had AF after probably having Covid19 never actually diagnosed as she was given various diagnosis early in the epidemic and is now on medication. Her husband did not have it.

Interesting you post this, I’ve always wondered if I had Covid mid February and then afterwards, I got diagnosed with High Blood Pressure which for me came out of the blue although it does run in the family.

I had symptoms of Covid from 11 March 2020 - late May. Slight cough and felt breathless. Months later beginning of October I took a heart attack out of the blue and then another and another seemed my Troponin was coming down slow from the first HA.. Anyway got angiogram all clear no damage to heart no narrowing. Echo now showing a bit more fluid round the heart snd some scarring. Now awaiting a MRI.. feet swollen one day not the next turn swollen again.. tightness in chest most days. Been diagnosed too with MINOCA.. it’s just a real worrying time as before hand I was really quite fit. Hope you get on ok with your outcome.. defo think this COVID has something to do with our ailments. Not a day goes by but I feel tightness and left shoulder blade pain especially after I eat. Strange!

Do you know it’s great to hear from someone suffering symptoms very similar to mine. Some days I’m frightened to eat. Today I got a new blood pressure gage which I was frightened to use so hubby got tested first and then I braved it... 148/76 which I thought was a bit on the high side.. hoping it was just me working myself up. Will take blood pressure tomorrow. Fingers crossed it will go down a bit. I will let you know how things go.. you take care on your side. I will keep you posted on the journey to the unknown😬
