Hi I have LBBB - I'm 43 and have had this for 6 months- echo and stress test all fine - I had bisoprolol but doesnt agree so now taking propranolol- I often get breathless and palpitations still and just feel odd? Is this normal as my cardiologist doesn't seem concerned as most people with LBBB have another heart problem??

Hi Gemm77 yes I’ve recently been told I have Lbbb . Mine stemmed from an appt at A&E for a pain in my leg ! I was told I had a heart mummer and referred back to gp for a check up . Had ecg at surgery then a week later was told it’s abnormal you have LBBB . Have had to google what this means as no info given only that I need to have echo and 24 hr heart monitor have had neither so far. Been waiting 6 weeks but obviously due to COVID and overwhelmed hospital I will have to just continue to wait . I don’t get breathless or have palpitations but do have high blood pressure which seems to be a factor .

Thanks for the info! I have had to stop going on Google I've worried myself sick! Too much bad information? I dont have high blood pressure its such a random thing- if you don't have any other underlying heart problems??

I only googled because I wasn’t given any info but if you go on YouTube Dr Sanjay Gupta on LBBB is very informative and does put you more at ease .

Thanks for that info. I was diagnosed with LBBB about a year ago, but am finding it difficult to find out much about it.

Do you get many symptoms??

Not really. Although it's classed as severe heart failure, I do not seem to have any symptoms. It was picked up when I had a bad chest infection. I may have had it for some years.

Hi Gem77. I am a fit 68 yr old never had any health problems. 10 days ago I had a pre op assessment for hip replacement - ok that is a problem but I get on with it and some paracetamol but hip joint is worn out thanks to busy busy - and to my great surprise was sent off for ECG which diagnosed LBBB.So at the moment I am re-adjusting to this and although the GP is not particularly worried I am! Especially if my hip op is postponed because of it. At the GP surgery my B/P was 160/90 but at home it is lower - and the person doing the B/P had no medical training and only did the one reading as soon as I rushed in! I am tempted to get a phone consultation with Mr Gupta - his explanation on LBBB is great and I feel I understand what it is thanks to him. My GP has not suggested an echocardiogram but I understand I should get one. At the moment we are concentrating on getting a true picture of how high my B/P really is and if I should take meds for it. My pulse rate is low at 60 or less so I don't want any beta blockers.

How are you getting on? It's nice to find your post.

Hi think I sent my reply addressed to you to Ada-eve..Oops

Hi no probs . I’ve now had an echo which came back as slight thickening on left valve . Gp doesn’t seem concerned! . Appt with cardiologist on 26/02 so hopefully find out what’s going on . My theory is LBBB caused by high blood pressure undetected for awhile . I take Ramipril 2.5 which is low dose and made some adjustments to my lifestyle ie starting work later and much less alcohol and my bp is now 130/75 . Fingers crossed that’s all it is but will soon find out 🙄. Hope you get some answers and your bp reading comes down 😊
