I just need to know what this means. I attended for a routine ECG approx. 3-4 years ago and noted it stated LBBB but I didn't get to discuss this with anyone. A few people on here have said it can relate to an underlying heart problem

I have recently been diagnosed with this too. A bit scary as professionals dont seem to be to concerned about it yet i have to go for a heart scan. How are you coping with it

Hi Corsa23. At first I got ectopic heartbeats quite similar to palpitations but just every now and again. Sometimes I be sitting watching TV and get breathless for some reason almost to be point of brisk walking up a hill. Went for a heart scan too and was then being investigated for angina this was ruled out a few years back now and the ECG revealed LBBB. Before that it was LVNC even my GP seemed a bit baffled and said she had never heard of this before. Left Ventricle Non Compaction. How have you been yourself?

You really should discuss the matter with your GP - people here are also patients and may not know the ins and outs of a LBBB and lead you to fret unnecessarily so the doctor is the first stop I think. Good luck

Hello again: - I purposefully did not go into detail because of the pitfalls of inadvertent misleading someone or to distress or otherwise someone who really would benefit from professional advice, and was why I replied as I did. I find it difficult to believe a GP would actually admit to now knowing anything medical, given the resources at their fingertips, but stranger things happen at sea. A web search reveals: -

Left bundle branch block is an abnormal pattern seen on an electrocardiogram (ECG), which indicates that the cardiac electrical impulse is not being distributed across the ventricles of the heart in the normal way. Left bundle branch block is important because (in contrast to right bundle branch block), left bundle branch block usually indicates that some form of underlying cardiac disease is present. For this reason, anyone who is discovered to have left bundle branch block on their ECG should have a cardiac evaluation.
