Hi, I am new here. I was wondering if anyone like me has had an ecg that has shown 1st degree heart block. My pr interval was 202 should be below 200. I suffer with health anxiety and I’m really worried. Doctor just says it’s common and no treatment required but I am worried it can get worse.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
It is only natural to feel anxiety with a new diagnosis. Your doctor is right that you really can feel reassured that this is very common and is nothing to worry about. Many people have this and it is a normal variant. You may find talking to one of the BHF nurses will offer you more reassurance.
If your anxiety continues perhaps have a consultation with your own doctor again and discuss your anxiety with them.
All the very best.
Hi. You are bound to be worried. We all are and it’s natural but your position does not sound like you need to worry too much. Did they mention a % of block? I have been told that in the UK they don’t worry much until the block is over 70%. Are you taking statins?
Thank you for your reply. I’m not taking statins
Then I think you’ll be fine. Check our heart healthy lifestyles on the BHF website and live! 😀
Hi , I blacked out while driving and ended up in A&E they picked up an av blockage on my ecg . After further tests I ended up with a dual chamber pacemaker being fitted. But they did say that there’s a lot of people walking round with av blockage and it doesn’t cause them any problems it’s only if you start displaying symptoms. Hope this helps.
Morning so pleased you are ok you are a very lucky . Did you crash into anything are you hurt was anyone else hurt....very frightening . Still many cars on the roads even though lockdown. Best wishes
Good morning, I had been driving home on m25 and stopped at shops , I was driving out of car park when it happened, it could have been so much worse. Fortunately no one hurt or car damaged I’m pleased to say. Turns out the fluttering in my heart was something I shouldn’t have ignored 🙄. Had pacemaker a month now and starting to feel good again. 👍
Do you get any symptoms ? If not then no need to worry as it's very common and not usually treated, however if you do get symptoms be persistent and ask for treatment.
Thank you for your reply. I have had missed beats for years on and off. Was referred to a cardiologist at the time and he said it was nothing to worry about. So wonder if it’s been there all these years.
