Information on Myocardial Scan MRIs and Angiograms for Fluff

Hi Fluff

Now this maybe irrelevant to yourself but I have just added it to give you some idea of what an Angiogram and a Perfusion Scan can show.

My Cardiologist wrote " I have reviewed his coronary and graft angiograms this reveals that the LIMA to the LAD and the Vein graft to the OM branch of the Circumflex are patent ( i.e. working my addition ) There is a CTO of the RCA and further disease in the proximal LAD which goes on to supply a large septal and a large diagonal territory.

Now you need to remember I have had a Heart Attack and had Bypass Surgery to my LAD and Circumflex. My RCA is 100% blocked and a little dodgy to open (this will only be attempted should Angina return!! )

Myocardial Perfusion reveals that there is a total defect affecting 16% of the Myocardium 4% of this is deemed Reversible and 12 % is fixed and Non Reversible.

As a result of this I went on to have 2 stents in the LAD to try to increase the perfusion. This didn't result in any further revascularisation to the myocardium as indicated on a further Stress MRI and Echocardiogram which showed my Ejection Fraction around the 42 % level.

Yesterday I received a letter to say I am on the list for a further Echo which has been requested by the Intervention Cardiologist with a copy sent to the Cardiologist who looks after Heart Failure to see how things are going on with Entresto etc. I do not experience Angina but can become breathless for no apparent reason i.e. just when sitting not doing anything

Now I understand I have given you a lot of information that will not be relevant to yourself, I have done it to show how much can be revealed by these test.

I am at the Maximum for Medication on Entresto and Bisoprolol so no scope for further meds !!

I do believe I am luckier than a lot of people, and view myself as being in reasonable health both Mentally and Physically !!!

Maybe stem cell patches in the foreseeable future may increase your myocardial perfusion 🤞
