Worried over a fall
There's no such thing as a stupid question! Once a stent has been implanted into the artery it will not move - the tissue of the artery wall grow over the stent and it becomes part of the artery wall. Here's a couple of links, the first to Boston Scientific, one of the companies who manufactures then, and the second explains why a stent can't move. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your reply that has helped me a lot and for the link most helpful . I just tripped over a wooden sleeper in font of my green house🙄 just went down on my hands and knees so didnt fall heavily just frightened myself and a bruised knee 🙄
Hi Sheila ,
I had a stent in March this year and to be honest not read up about how bomb proof they are to be honest perhaps a bit scared .
But it’s nice to know they are secure once inserted .
Hope you ok from your fall .
Sheila x
That's the nice thing about this site, everyone understands and you can ask anything. It is perfectly natural to be anxious about something so "different" as a stent to begin with and it's amazing how quickly you get used to things you would never have thought of in the past and they soon become part of you.
I was worried about my stent moving too and I was reassured by my cardiologist that they don't
Happy Birthday Sheila! Hope you are ok after your fall and I too was worried about my stent moving good to know it’s secure
Happy birthday Sheila. Glad you not badly hurt. I know nothing about stents so was very interested to hear the replies from others on this site. Everyone is so helpful x
Hi glad your fall wasn't to bad....just one thing, if you are taking anticoagulants keep a careful eye on your knee(s) for swelling around the knee this may indicate a bleed into the sack which surrounds your knee. It can become apparent 2 or 3 days after the event. Hopefully all will be well. Happy belated birthday wishes. Regards Roy
Hello Sheila. I can't add anything else. The lovely people on this forum have said it all. Hope your knees aren't too bad and hope you had a lovely birthday. 😊🍰 xxxx
Happy Birthday, Sheila! Hope your hands and knees aren't too black & blue today. If they are, take pictures of them, print them out, and stick them in your windows tonight...
Seriously, have a lovely weekend
Thank you all for my birthday wishes and for your support no bruising at all thank goodness , knee feels a little tender but not much swelling putting ice on it seems to help
