hi guys a few of you asked if i post how it went with phone consult today. for those who don’t know i’m very symptomatic to most cardiac meds(so far). forever the optimist. i have to say it went very well and it was my cardiologist himself. upshot is he’s changing me from isosorbide to diliatazmin. really don’t know how you spell it sorry. isosorbide was giving me too much problems including the usual one of dropping my bp to much causing dizziness and fainting. my thallium test i had in february showed slight reduction in blood flow which could be the cause of recent breathlessness. apparently this drug will help with this and reduce my heart rate a bit which has started to climb slightly recently. the hope is that it won’t drop too much. can anyone give any input on said drug. at least he’s willing to work with me to find something to keep me upright. hope this makes sense. i don’t seem to be able to write short posts. sorree 🤣❤️shiona
phone consult: hi guys a few of you... - British Heart Fou...
phone consult
Hope it sorts you out Shiona, I know a few people on here take it and have good results with it.
fingers crossed james❤️
Can't help with the meds, but really hope it works for you x
morning. hope you and kevin are well. it went better than i expected lesley. i’m usually quite stuttery on the phone and can explain things better to a face but i think because it was my own doc i was fine❤️
Glad it went well for you, it is easier when you know the person you're talking to.
Oncologist has told us they can't operate on Kevin due to his heart and quite possibly won't be able to do radiotherapy for the same reason, so they're contacting his cardiologist to talk it through. Very difficult discussing this on the phone when I have hearing problems. English wasn't the oncologists first language so we had difficulties with her accent.
So, we raised the question as to how the cardiologist is going to assess Kevin for radiotherapy via a phone call, as he's not gonna be able to listen to his heart, take blood pressure etc!! The cardiologist appt has now been changed to a face to face!
Glad it went well today. I love the way you describe it:- "he’s willing to work with me to find something to keep me upright. "
Really good to hear your appointment went well.
Always good to be kept upright😉
I have been on high doses of Diltiaziem for many years.
I am lucky no swollen ankles which is a common side effect along with constipation.
I hope it works for you.
oh poor kevin. really sorry to hear this. i know nhs is under pressure but common sense has to prevail. i hope you get your appointment soon honey and you get some answers. you’d think he was suffering from a runny nose or something! did your heels in and insist on what you need. for BOTH of you. love and hugs❤️
Ahhhh 🤣be the scouts. be prepared. good luck❤️
Hope everything goes well and you do stay upright!!! ❤️❤️
