Left arm dullness chest niggles

It’s been a long time since I felt I needed you guys ❤️

I had my HA and 2 stents fitted 18-23 March this year. I had bedding in niggles for a few weeks after, but I have had no arm pain since my op. But since Friday I’ve had the dullness back in my left arm again and some sharp chest pains. Which last for a second but they are coming on and off all the time. I think I’ve made my self anxious again which I can do,I suppose. I also feel I’m much less tolerant which causes me to get stressed and causes anxiety. I don’t see the point in phoning the GP surgery at the minute. But should I phone the cardiac assessment centre in the morning. Or am I causing drama.

Many thanks Folks.

There is never any harm in talking to the right health professionals, so please never think it is pointless or a waste of either your or their time. I personally would reach out to your local community cardiac rehab team (assuming you have one) and ask for their advice.

I myself had the kind of pain you describe for at least 4 out of the last 6 months in my left shoulder/heart area, which naturally "put me on edge" and eventually started to freak me out.

Following several conversations with my local community cardiac rehab team, during which they "talked me down from the ceiling" (yes it had got that bad), they asked me did it hurt when I touched the affected area, which it did. This suggested to them it was probably a muscular/skeletal problem and not heart related, and that it was triggereing anxiety/panic attacks. So they reccomended a course of physio treatments, plus a series of counseling sessions to improve my anxiety/stress management skills to help me manage the situation myself. This has definitely eased both the physical and mental problems I was experiencing, has broken the vicious cycle I was locking myself into, and has ultimately helped my recovery.

I am not saying this is what is happening with you, but the advice I would give you is please don't suffer in silence and dwell on it. Instead seek help from wherever you can get it (the local cardiac nurses are great, are specialists in this field, and know more about it than your GP ever will), to keep your recovery moving forwards.

I hope this helps.

The worry is quite understandable; don't hesitate to ask for advice. My HA and stents were two years ago and I've been fine but they left two 64% blockages that hey said didn't need stenting and now I'm breathless and in a panic that those have got worse. Spinal and shoulder damage just complicates things as I never know which is which. Before the HA they insisted my breathlessness was muscular. They got that one very wrong.

Hi, I am sure all would suggest here that yes when in doubt ask and get checked but as some assistance, I am sure we all know about the anxiety after this experiance and Stents or bypass and any pains in your arm or chest. I uave noticed and been told (I am 16 months post stent) that Sharpe pains are very unlikely to be heart, and often you get a lot of added muscular paons or lets say you notice them a lot more after any heart attack or incident. I too get arm pain but I always, after cardiologist advise check that you can recreate the pain by moving it about and if you can this 99.9% muscular or skeletor pains, I also have had the sharpe stabbing pains around the heart and chest area, they do really scare you but in my case have proved to be nothing more than nerve and muscle. The anxiety is real and can make it worse, I have had real pains just due to anxiety in the early days from what we can work out. Good luck and when in doubt get checked out.

I’m in A@E since 4pm 😡😡😡 but every thing is fine so far. I’m sure it’s part of our condition now dealing with this and then worrying which doesn’t help as then I get anxiety. Thank you everyone. ❤️❤️❤️
