I’m 5 weeks into double bypass CABG recovery and feeling really good.
So good that a monkey on my shoulder has started to whisper in my ear such things as AF and STROKE. I think I maybe need a good telling off and a kick, and need to get on with my life now, (I’m very lucky to be fixed) OR are these thing I should be thinking about.
Sorry, I’m feeling guilty at even writing this when so many good people are having issues, but this is real in my head and making me a bit low ....... so any thoughts welcomed.

You have certainly nothing to feel guilty about, coming through open heart surgery and feeling good is fantastic. Having those thoughts is just natural before your op you were gearing yourself up to struggle back to feeling yourself again. As for the future no ones knows😂 but your heart as been mended and now it’s your turn to take care of it the surgeon as done their job.
I had Aortic valve replaced and bypass 4 years ago every day I am grateful to the medical team who gave me my life back.
After what you’ve been through I think that seems to be a completely normal reaction, I don’t have the same condition as you but reading on this forum seems like you’re going through the same process.
Don’t ever feel guilty we’ve all got different conditions at all different stages, we’re all in this together to help us through it all, say what’s on your mind, for advice, or rant there’s always someone here !!
