Recently got a echo after having 1-2000 ectopic beats on a 24hour ECG. Doctor doesn’t think anything is wrong but I have stages where I feel three beats in a row for HOURS. It’s very unsettling. I don’t think I’m an overly anxious person (although this definitely worries me!) and can rule out alcohol coffee etc. I’ve started taking magnesium as have heard this can help but nothing yet. My doctor has prescribed propranolol for when I have a bad period but sometimes I’m taking it constantly and not sure if that is good for my long term health! I’m 31yo and pretty fit and healthy. I find that surfing and warm up/down on a bike really sets it off, as well as eating, going from standing to sitting, laying down and changing sides in bed.
Does anyone have any advice? Also, does anyone know if you can exercise properly with this or is it dangerous?
I don’t think ablation is an answer with an otherwise healthy heart, but the feeling is maddening!!
Thanks for reading!

I have the same symptoms and am now 63. Propranolol is about as safe as it gets but try not to depend upon them because they can produce the opposite effect. Try getting smaller dose tablets because too high a dose is sometimes less effective.
I recommend the cardiologist of You Tube: York cardiology. He has some good advice and is sympathetic. I found that giving up white bread useful but caffeine and alcohol don’t seem to be my consistent triggers.
I’ve just used a breathing technique to stop a series of ectopics: six minutes of six breaths a minute, in through nose and out by mouth. I have found this useful.
Try to find what the triggers are. It isn’t easy but it is empowering.
Yes York cardiology on You Tube has the details and the stats to show that it is reasonably effective. This doctor has extensive posts on this issue. I’ve found him helpful. You can also book a consultation on his website.
Ok. You Tube search engine isn’t brilliant. I do this. For six minutes I breath in and out six times every minute. Concentrating on breathing slowly doesn’t always eliminate them but for me at least reduces them to a place where I feel calmer. He suggests in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Lord knows that I know how distressing this condition is and I have had it for forty years or more. If your underlying health is good don’t be panicked. You can also talk to him, for a fee of course. I have and he is sympathetic.
I have been having ectopics since January which have been getting worse and ended up in A&E on Tuesday, they keep me awake most of the night. All tests say my heart is ok and it’s difficult to correct because of my low pulse ( in 40s) if you want to know more about ectopics go on YouTube Dr Sanjay Gupta he has lots to say about ectopics. Good luck
