High blood pressure today!!!

Sudden high blood pressure. I had a MI in April, on all the usual drugs, my heart rate is mid 50s and my normal resting blood pressure is 125/75 ish.

However, today, it's been high all day at 140/85 and higher. It's never been this high (through multiple tests before) Should I be worried or is this to be expected from time to time?

Thanks

Hi, I wouldnt be too concerned with that (random internet stranger) If it continues, then probably best to contact your GP. Your BP and pulse change a lot through the day and before/after meds, keep an eye on it. HTH

I monitor my BP regularly and often find the odd day when it is elevated. Dehydration can affect your BP, as can stress and exercise, or lack of. Like you, my normal is around 125/75 and my HR around 55. A lengthy walk in the hills will bring my BP down ten points, a lazy day doing nothing can take it up ten. Thankfully since my HA, stents and triple bypass, I don't see anything near the 220/110 I once recorded!

Wow, great advice, not really been pushing myself on a daily bike ride for 2-3 days. BP was high today, 138 and 148 systolic.

Went on a 6m bike ride, pushed myself a bit. Took BP 10 mins after getting back and it was 127/77...!

So... Get exercising, thanks 👍

Yes, 20 minutes of moderate exercise should bring your BP down. You don't always have to go so far to get the benefit. Getting out of the house helps!
