Weird Incident this morning

Hi all, I’m 6 weeks post ablation for SVT today. I had a weird incident happen this morning. I was taking my dog out to go to the bathroom and I sniffled and I felt my heart start to race, so I brought him back inside and it didn’t feel like SVT (thank god!) but my HR was around 180. I was shaking and having anxiety which probably made it worse but I sat on my bed and started deep breathing through it and luckily it slowed down and is now back to normal. I don’t know what I would call that though? Because it stayed at a solid 180 for about 5 minutes as I was deep breathing and then it started to go back down. It definitely did not feel like an SVT though so I’m not sure. But now I have to go to work and I’m honestly really nervous. Idk I guess I just wanted to vent.

Hi Bryce, that sounds alarming but could be just a one off.Have you got any follow up planned with the EP? I have SVTs but no ablation as yet.How was this different to your previous symptoms?

This was different because it didn’t feel like it was in a loop (if that makes sense), and I could control it, it just felt like I had worked out and I needed to sit for a second.

Well vented. In fact strangely enough a strong sniff sometimes does trigger tachy but usually Sinus Tach.

How are you feeling today, and did you have any more weirdies during your working day yesterday?

Good thinking to take up Alison_L's advice to keep a log. I keep a pad and pen handy during the day then transfer it to a spreadsheet to email my cardiologist once a month - he took some convincing but now says the spreadsheet is the fastest most efficient way for him to monitor me during the pandemic.

I’m feeling fine today! I didn’t have anything else happen yesterday. Like I said it really just felt like I had worked out too hard (I do have a steep set of stairs to walk up to get to my apartment) and I had taken my beta blockers later than I normally do, I also had just woken up, so it could’ve happened for a plethora of reasons. I guess it just freaked me out bc my heart rate hasn’t been that high in a while due to the beta blockers. But I will definitely keep a log!
