CRT-D Beeping 5 days post Op

Hi hubby had his CRT-D Fitted 5 days ago as an upgrade from a dual chamber pacemaker. This morning he feels he jumped in his sleep which woke him up and tonight he heard about 4 beeps from it. No symptoms, no chest pain, SOB etc. Being the weekend his device clinic isn’t open until Tuesday as it’s bank holiday. Anyone else with a St Jude CRT-D experienced anything similar?

I am a Nurse so will not hesitate to 999 if appropriate- he is not experiencing symptoms, normal blood pressure and heart rate etc as i record that post operatively at home.

Thank you for any help

Is there no out of hours phone number to ring for advice. Must departments managing ICD patients do.

I have an ICD and had bleeping. They needed to make some adjustments and then it was fine.

If it keeps up definitely seek help. It is new so there is a very small chance the new lead has moved slightly so if worried I would go to casualty.

Thank you for replying. There is only advice to call 999 in the event of concerns from the Device clinic. Not worried currently as all obs are normal. sadly for hubby I am a nurse so able to keep a very close eye. He had observed he was holding his phone very close to his chest for an extended period so not sure if like a magnetic presence warning the bleeping was linked to this. Not being present in the hospital due to Covid means i was not able to get all of the discharge information and was informed the paperwork given to hubby was sufficient.

Sometimes , when sleeping, deeply, your heart rate can get very slow, down into the 20's. The pacemaker is there to stop your rate getting that low and it kicks in to make sure it doesn't.

thank you for replying. the pacemaker is programmed to come in at 50bpm and he relies on this 100% and has done for 15 years. The jumping is new since the CRT-D implant. No worrying symptoms and obs all within normal range so hopefully on Tuesday they can run his monitoring device and give some feedback
